but to say the least, I think you are deeply mistaken @Dusty Morgan
The abortion debate is pretty much a stalemate IMO.
specifically regarding the "forcing people to do things" part of it
as for the death penalty, im all for it
How am I deeply mistaken? I think we should have pro-choice up to a certain point. After that it should be pro-life and if people don't want, they should be encourage to put baby up for adoption.
yeah nobody asked but still
lol
But the truth is that we don't have a proper punishment people who do commit serious crimes, because we can't really impose anything that would serve justice for some crimes. I'm not sure what my stance is on it still.
@Dusty Morgan you made a choice by being sexually active and, in a wildly large number of cases, unprotected
prison should not be punishment
it should be rehabilitation
no the death penalty should be punishment though
That's a fair point.
Well punishment does need to happen, but there should be some rehabilitation centers in prison.
Why not both?
To help people get back into society.
punishment is illogical
Tim, some ppl are beyond help. And some ppl deserve to be punished.
Explain what you mean Tim.
its just emotional satisfaction
it does nothing
waste of time and energy
right
so kill them
either we rehabilitate or we dont
kiling is wrong
is it though?
killing is immoral
yes
It should be neither punishment nor rehabilitation, but separation. Prison is to keep society safe from criminals. It's not for the criminal's benefit, it's for society's.
Punish people for doing wrong, encourage people for doing right. Set them on right path.
in ALL cases killing is wrong?
punishment doesnt change behavior
You're right, Tim. I should have used a different word. I suppose I meant more of... there's no way to bring justice to it.
But give them the tools to help them on right path.
exactly
The fear of prison does put some ppl off commiting crime.
