I never met anyone who was divorced my time here
I got 200K in inheritance.
My dad put another 100k in it for me.
It isn't in my name, but it is mine when he dies.
there are alot of ways listed on that page where you can have plenty
To be honest, I rather have my dad instead of inheritance.
Well I don't want to abuse it.
I am lucky to have it though.
Most people don't get SSI when they need it and end up on the streets.
In the cold and hurting every night.
how is it abusing it if it is allowed?
if it is following the guidlines set forth it is not abuse
Well I was raised to not take advantage of people.
I just extend it to the government, because I rather be fair.
:\
I freaking worry over paying people back for money they lend me.
Even if it is 20 dollars.
so you think that you working is somehow taking advantage of people? you would be paying into the very program you get from
Oh I didn't look at the link.
and depending on how much you make the amount you get from the ssa would decrease or remain the same
Well if someone hire me, I would helply help.
I do donate left over money to charities and help with community if it isn't physical labor.
here is the main part concerning ssi
Working and SSI Benefits
You can begin to work and continue to receive SSI benefits as long as your wages and other resources do not exceed the SSA’s income limit for SSI; however, your monthly benefit amount will be reduced in proportion to your income.
Here's how the SSA reduces your income. Both the federal benefit amount and the income limit is $750 (in 2018). The SSA will reduce your benefit by the amount of your countable income. If your only income is from your job, the SSA does not include the first $85 you earn toward your countable income.
After taking the $85 adjustment off of your income, the SSA will deduct, from your monthly benefits, 50 cents for every dollar you earn. Here is an example of a person who earns $1,180 a month from working: $1,180 - $85 = $1,095 ÷ 2 = $547.50. The individual’s monthly SSI benefit amount would be reduced by $547.50.
Your monthly benefit amount is also affected by the amount your state adds to the federal SSI payment, if any. For more information, see our article on how much SSI pays.
If your SSI payments stop because you earn too much money (that is, if your countable income is over $750 per month), but you are subsequently forced to quit work because of your disability, the SSA will reinstate your benefits without the need for a new application for a period of five years.
Like doing paperwork.
Labor hurts my neck, I could become fully paralyze from another injury to the neck.
I get chronic migraines per day.
I have to take medication to keep it in check.
T_T
Give me a computer and allow me a break every two hours.
Wait some people get 1,095 dollars for SSI?
I only get 790.
no
It’s if they are working.
the 1095 is what they are using as an example of what a person makes per month while on ssi
Ah...
So confused.
@_@
and thats after they subtract the 85 from the top then they divide it in half and remove that final number from your 750
I imagine a social worker could explain a lot of the stuff if you have one.
