And it's going down as we read..
Gets spicier as we dive deeper down the rabbit hole
Doubt it's going to be wonderland on the other side though
Fake news and "white washing" because the youngest person was a chinese newborn https://news.yahoo.com/newborn-baby-london-become-youngest-143200078.html

lol, I wasn't the only person running that math on how many infected we can handle at a given time but he managed to dig up the number of ventilators in the US instead of guesstimating how many available ICU beds we have.

His numbers? 1.7 per 1k people.
My numbers? 1 to 4 per 1k people.
there's little to no point calculating anything against "total number infected". in that article he seems almost confused by the reported rate of critical to total cases in Italy. The point is that Italy isn't testing and won't bother to test unless people need a ventilator, because at this stage treatment for the severely ill is the only priority and wasting resources on the mildly ill is not advised. In fact, they are instructed to stay away from the hospitals. This exact phenomenon is happening in USA and the rest of Europe. Germany is, as mentioned, well prepared medically for such events and is still testing anyone who self-reports. They have a good idea of real numbers in Germany and South Korea alone - no other countries with sizeable outbreaks are anywhere near sure of the real infected numbers.
So yes, Italy reached a triage stage when their number of cases surpassed their number of ventilators - precisely because almost all of their reported cases are just the serious ones.

"Panic over the coronavirus@
You'll just make it worse
> You'll just make it worse
Not sure it can get worse or why facing facts is bad but I recommend to those who experience anxiety when reading these to get used to it and prepare for worse things to come.
We should have panicked more, and more intelligently.
Panic a little now instead of later
> Panicking is good.
With caveats but yeah.
> We should have panicked more, and more intelligently.
Very true. <:why:462286147473637407>
Intelligent panicking <:brain_blimp:588140316339470347>
On a nationwide scale, yes
Luckily we got cases later
> Intelligent panicking <:brain_blimp:588140316339470347>
Yes. Imagine it as similar to how there's good and bad type of envy
We have measures in place, just hope people will follow isolation rules
Panicking is never good
Panic buying will just spread it further
Then again I'm nocturnal basically so daywalkers can get fucked
At the beginning when shortages haven't happened yet, people are always more cooperative
Give it a couple months and let's see what the tp people will do. Hint: something disorderly
There is no advantage to paranoia
The toilet paper wont stop being produced
Watch the vid
Supplies wont stop
They can, temporarily.
The overwhelming majority of supplies critical to your existence are heavily automated
If everyone is panic buying toilet paper, you have to as well if you don't have a supply.
