In Latin America Brazil has the most with 200
bruh fucking French Polynesia has 3 cases
Iceland has 161
Also. Just confirmed. Remember, they dont have enough test kits.
I'm just glad that lockdown here ends on the 24th
also the disease seems to barely affect children, it's only going for the Boomers
which still kinda sucks, my parents are Boomers and shit
TheHill: Biden-Sanders Democratic debate watched by 9.9 million on CNN.

They're suspending HIPAA with respect to telemedicine
To remove roadblocks that make it more difficult I guess
And this in the country with the most critical care beds per capita
Yep.
So, Italy scenario then
Eventually.
I'm leaning towards that number I calculated before of roughly 0.1% of the population can get this without overwhelming the healthcare system.
I keep finding that our ICU beds are ~85% full at any given time and we won't be able to kick many people out of them for COVID-19 patients.
When you say "Italy scenario" it's good to remember 1/4 of Italians are over 60.....
Kinda early in the day for such numbers.
Not italy scenario. The 45 days number is really good because that gives plenty of time to move new equipment into place
Military temporary hospitals for example
Yeah, popup hospitals plus use of national stockpiles of ventilators could blunt this enough.
More ICU beds per capita than any other country, best equipped military in history, two navy hospital ships (one on each coast), and hopefully a population that will follow the guidelines and slow the spread
Italy has a couple helicopters and a donkey
The good news is I'm seeing a rather lot of private action from companies taking this fairly seriously and lots of local governments seeming to do it right.
That's not an accident. The government has been very good at ripping up regulations and red tape to set the states free. Decision making should be done at the lowest possible level in a country of this size
I don't really want to be relying on Trump to wake up every morning feeling generous
Trump has been pretty bad on messaging about this. The only good thread to his messaging is the stuff on national solidarity and helping your neighborhood.
He was on the nothingburger and everything is fine train way too long.
Messaging has been awful
His actual response seems pretty good so far though
Yeah, actions have been better than words in his case.
Pence's team has been doing pretty great on both fronts.
But this is a case where his words are extremely important
Normally I don't care how much he lies and threatens people
Hey, US is finally not in the bottom 10 for testing per capita:
