The idea is that the eventual out come of an event may be worth lying about if it prevents severe harm.
I wonder when AI will tell its first lie; when it legit decides that the objective truth is the wrong answer to give.
From what I've read, published by Dr. Paul Ekman in "Telling Lies," lying is a recent invention.
Humans coming from small tribes it was impossible to lie given that everyone knew everyone.
It is only after large groups of people started living together that humans were even able to lie.
And so, when will the first computer conclude that lying is the optimal response.
It will be when programmers dont put boundaries on the AI?
Our problem today appears to be distinguishing truth from fiction.
People can spout a bunch of word salad and others will defend it as fact.
I find it increasing difficult to have reasonable discussions with the rise in nonsense.
Yesterday I attempted civil dialog in regards to minimum wage increases affecting small businesses and all people could defend with were ad hominem attacks.
I ended the conversation with an npc meme and disabled notifications given that the bunch of them were circle jerking their friend's posts with likes.
Tim brings up a good point I pointed out earlier. There is people who are legitimate asylum seekers, but they are being drowned out by economic migrants.

Fore xample:
Left keeps propagandizing that these people are fleeing violent countries. If that was true, they would WANT borders.
How are you going to keep out all the violence they are fleeing without proper borders?

@willc it remains to be seen as to whether the military will be used in a 'front line' capacity on the border. the 800 currently being sent at meant for logistical purposes.
Being on US soil is illegal.
if they're on the front line, then the real question is whether or not they will be issued live rounds.
They are not going to launch mortars. They are just going to approach the wall.
BTW, I am not sure if they are allowed to just shoot - not that they would anyway, out of political reasons.
