I made small chat, but I really wanted to help.
I talked to him... to the best of my ability since I am hard of hearing.
@Dusty Morgan Money will come and go, but words, and being treated respectfully actually lasts a lot longer
So I did a good thing by treating him like a friend...
I talk to everyone like I knew them.
Treating them like a equal.
But I WANTED to help him get that phone card, he could talk to his family.
But atlas... I am flat broke myself.
Well, thats kindof a good thing, but since you couldnt theres nothing you can do abou it
I only had enough to get a drink and that is it.
I've been in the situation where I've had nothing on me to help with monetarily. So I give them some of the time of my day, ask them about themselves, and listen
I always believed that as a community, we should take care of our veterans.
They done so much for us by protecting us from war.
Make sure our veterans are took care of and then our homeless.
Well yes, it's a shame how many of our homeless are veterans who were probably from low income families and ignored before their service as much as after
I wanted to be a community organizer for that reason only.
Help our poor and veterans.
I has baked a swiss roll today
Build halfway houses for them, that make a intermediate place where they can get on their feet through clothing and showers.
I would use funding to pay for supplies, payments of employees who are homeless people themselves, and finally I would use the money towards helping them get back on their feet.
@Dusty Morgan that depends on them
We had a program in my city to help homeless people
and they end up on the street with bottle in hand
I would have money set back for therapy to get them off drugs or drinking...
The guy went to therapy for 5 months
to get his life sorted out
😦
asoon as he got his first paycheck
back on the street alcohol
Money isnt always the problem though, a lot of homeless have given up on the communities that have given them up
its hard to want to help people that dont want to help themselves
Well I would work towards getting the community involved and to care.
Yeah
can't help people who don't want to be helped sadly
I am talking about in small time towns.
Basically that makes a bigger impact.
Most homeless are from small towns.
If i Refuse to take responsibility you cant force me to lead a responsible life .
thats the only problem
