There is a step or two missing in the above logic methinks
well I mean, asian culture is pretty conserative and mono culture
They do like **drawn** naked girls
Japanese don't understand what the hell is wrong with Black Face, I say this having talked to Japanese in subburbs of Japan
though I see like japan being high up in western standards
but also brow beaten by western counties
“Itta good jackrie chan implession “
Japan has a pretty clear caste system in general
Caste, Clan, and Family systems
Given the occupation Americans and white in general get admitted to the top tier with Yamato
After that it gets pretty ugly, especially if you're Korean
I've spoken with black friends who have visited Japan and ironically they get treated quite well, likely because they are linked to America and in any case are such an oddity
Yeah. Blacks in America see themselves as different, Japanese see Black Americans as Americans and are treated with the same "Respectful Distance" as they treat all over Americans.
That's cool.
Hopefully that's true when I visit Japan someday...
From what was explained to me, Americans are basicly their own clan, Uniformed Officers are the highest Caste, followed by Uniform enlisted, then Corporate Reps, and finally dependants.
just don't be a dindu
:^)
I'm white, though.
oh
So the "dindu" thing won't be a concern.
The Japanese don't really see a difference.
Honestly, I think we should take a couple notes from Japan in terms of respect and culture, in a sense.
I was sent there for a while for Bi-Lateral exercises.
How was it?
Interesting.
Some ways I would say they are really behind the US, others they are ahead.
Technology-wise, they're ahead. Society-wise, also ahead. Pop-culture-wise, I dunno.
Well yes and no on both.
am i allowwed to ping admin
There are things that we do better here in the states that they have a bit of a hard time wrapping their heads around but once they do they can run with it.
Both the US and Japan have bomb-ass food. (See what I did there?)
However, Japan needs to definitely rethink the idea of 12-hour work days and whatnot.
I was there in uniform and most of the people I dealt with there were also in uniform so I can't speak to their coporate culture directly.
That's up to Japan
"Make Japan Somewhat More American!"
(In terms of labor laws, that is...)
One aspect that really reveals the differences in thinking is the Uniforms.
Japan seems to be doing great
JGSF BDU tops have over sized ALICE belts sewn across the back. And I could understand why once a translator told me, but when I told them why mine didn't it took them a while to understand
