Modern HMDs use eye-tracking to seamlessly down and upscale rendering resolution. Effectively, way more efficient with no quality loss.

The only thing thats changed is that your peripheral, is low resolution. Something that you can't notice.

I really don't get how people refuse to understand that nods are LITERALLY AR devices. Modern NVGs can have thermal and other provisions installed with just a bit of R&D. Plus, they're fucking cool.

They don't really have the fancy processing of microsoft AR tho

You don't exactly want an AR helmet, you want easily togglable glasses or goggles. If a bullet we're ever to hit that helmet, it would send glass directly into your face. Nods don't do that.

Microsoft helmet has laser scanner so it can tell you the dimension of a thing you hold in your hand
