Why would they be multi-role now?

2018-11-05 21:02:13 UTC

Most of the fighter jets, navy, and military relies on satellites for their features. Same goes for China.

2018-11-05 21:02:21 UTC

Their tech is based off our tech too.

2018-11-05 21:02:26 UTC

but "Operation Burnt Frost" was far, far, FAR from a operational weapon.

2018-11-05 21:02:27 UTC

Russia, I am not so sure.

2018-11-05 21:02:45 UTC

Tims vid from yesterday and this vid contradict each other

2018-11-05 21:02:48 UTC

Russia would mostly gain instance advantage over us if that happen.

2018-11-05 21:02:54 UTC

Everyone is based off our tech, just depends on if they stole it before we sold it to them.

2018-11-05 21:03:18 UTC

Russia seems to not use satellites as much as we do.

2018-11-05 21:03:25 UTC

Destroying satellites is the next logical step in modern warfare. If you wipe out your enemy's ability to use long range communication and cut them off, it's the next step to defeating them.

... of course, once we do hit the kessler syndrome, it'll create an entirely different issue in the next stage of space travel satellite usage. I think there've already been stories written about a future where it's become bad enough that travelling into orbit and clearing debris is an actual legitimate job.

2018-11-05 21:03:36 UTC

@Dennafen by your logic the F-16 is air superiority.

2018-11-05 21:03:49 UTC

Russian history is fucking weird

2018-11-05 21:03:56 UTC

Lets move the war discussion to <#463068752725016579>

2018-11-05 21:03:57 UTC

They modeified the F-15 after the initial design.

2018-11-05 21:03:58 UTC

No the f-16/18 are multi-role.

2018-11-05 21:04:20 UTC

the F-15 is air superiority.

2018-11-05 21:04:23 UTC

No, the F-16 and F-15 were both developed as the next generation Air superiority fighter, as was the F-17 for that matter.

2018-11-05 21:04:31 UTC

Wouldn't destroying tactical satellites be an act of war?

2018-11-05 21:04:36 UTC

F-18 was the only one originally intended as F/A.

2018-11-05 21:04:37 UTC

So using anti-satellite missiles is rather stupid. It would be smarter to use Laser to blind the satellites.

2018-11-05 21:04:54 UTC

You don't destroy them, you don't create Kessler Syndrome either.

2018-11-05 21:05:02 UTC

You just blind them.

2018-11-05 21:05:04 UTC

Like shooting down a plane

2018-11-05 21:05:10 UTC

Who cares. You're in a major shooting war.

2018-11-05 21:05:11 UTC

oh, another option is this: <https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Boeing_X-37>

2018-11-05 21:05:24 UTC

`The combat-proven F-16 is the world’s most capable 4th generation multi-role fighter, serving as the workhorse of the fighter fleet for 28 customers around the world. The F-16V, the latest F-16 configuration, includes numerous enhancements designed to keep the F-16 at the forefront of international security.`

2018-11-05 21:05:26 UTC

Oh I forgot about that, our rapid deployment platforms.

2018-11-05 21:05:48 UTC

launch one of those on a Falcon 9 and have it just put limpet mines on enemy satellites, to be command detonated at will.

2018-11-05 21:06:01 UTC

Actually it doesn't work that way.

2018-11-05 21:06:01 UTC

We get it you identify as a 🛬

2018-11-05 21:06:14 UTC

It skims off the surface of our atmosphere.

2018-11-05 21:06:24 UTC

It never stops.

2018-11-05 21:06:32 UTC

@Dennafen My point is that the F-15 is like the F-16 it was air superiority in the initial build but became multirole later.

2018-11-05 21:06:34 UTC

It is hypersonic too.

2018-11-05 21:06:53 UTC

No.

2018-11-05 21:07:02 UTC

It mostly to spy on Countries and deploy bombing capabilities.
