i played the 2016 demo
wasn't really long enough to form a strong opinion
It does feel alot more Quake like tho, which makes me feel like they could've and probs should have gone for a quake remake rather than a DOOM sequel but what evs, the game is good
Also the art directions doesn't matter too much considering the gameplay is fucking fantastic
i did wonder if ID software confused the plot of Quake and Doom at some point

Quake was all about demons, and Quake 2 was some bullshit alien invasion

But i supposed they already had Doom

Gameplay is fast paced so you gloss over all the details anyway
Doom 3 was awesome, milky
doom 3 is perfectly fine
At the time, it was groundbreaking
it's nothing amazing, and the pc port kinda boned the balance
@Win Roe Nah, Doom 3 was a step in the right direction actually.
Just not a complete and polished step, but it was very refreshing and a natural evolution from Doom and Doom 2.

There was a massive time gap, and therefore tech gap between Doom 2 and DOom 3
Hell was the only level I unironically enjoyed as a DOOM game, but after that it was such a flatline that I quit, the start was interesting but it doesn't go anywhere worth while
Doom 3 was a very successful horror game. And making atmospheric and suspenseful horror games is actually pretty hard.
Doom 3 married action and narrative very well

Also, the demons in doom 3 looked more "demonic". Whereas 2016 and Eternal just make them look like aliens.

eternal has returning demons from 3 like wraiths and a lot of designs from the og 2 translated to a modern game
I havent seen maggots or trites etc but definitely wraiths
