Nah I'm done lol

2018-11-08 14:20:02 UTC

😏 😂

2018-11-08 14:20:05 UTC

theres a difference in "believing, for lack of better knowledge"
and "Believing cuz you want to believe and fuck reality cuz i'm entitled"

2018-11-08 14:20:26 UTC

Ok, but which is the religious one and which isn't and why?

2018-11-08 14:20:26 UTC

here is a problem: When humans more or less blindly follow something or believe in something, they can complete amazing things without even, necessarily, a drop in living standards. But when not blindly following, they can get stuck in things like the paradox of choice. However, when they do blindly follow, they are easily manipulated and easily lead in a direction that is detrimental to nearly everyone.

2018-11-08 14:20:43 UTC

the religious one is the entitled shit one,

Any current religion disproves itself

2018-11-08 14:20:59 UTC

I'm fine with believing theres a greater being out there,

But any religion is just fan-fic for power

2018-11-08 14:21:07 UTC

Disproves itself? Is it making a claim?

2018-11-08 14:21:10 UTC

yes

2018-11-08 14:21:21 UTC

I'm not religious so, please do tell.

2018-11-08 14:21:25 UTC

that theres some supernatural sky being that observes all, and somehow came into existance

2018-11-08 14:21:32 UTC

thats 90% of religions generally

2018-11-08 14:21:49 UTC

Ok, so how has that been disproven?

2018-11-08 14:21:59 UTC

By itself?

2018-11-08 14:22:11 UTC

@Dr.Wol they dont neccessarily say that being actualy came into existance. Just like we have no reason to believe the universe ever came into existance

2018-11-08 14:22:11 UTC

cuz extraordinary claims require extraordinary evidence,

Anything claimed without evidence can be dismissed without evidence

2018-11-08 14:22:19 UTC

fair point Punks

2018-11-08 14:22:20 UTC

there is a difference between not being proven, and being disproven

2018-11-08 14:22:47 UTC

Right, but dismissing something isn't what you said.

2018-11-08 14:22:49 UTC

well each religion is disproven by the other religions

2018-11-08 14:22:52 UTC

You said they disprove themselves.

2018-11-08 14:22:52 UTC

something may never be proven in your lifetime, that does not mean it is disproven

2018-11-08 14:22:55 UTC

cuz they all claim to be the one true one

2018-11-08 14:23:16 UTC

disprove =/= dismiss

2018-11-08 14:23:40 UTC

@Dr.Wol well, discordianism affirms all religions - all things are true, even those that are false.

2018-11-08 14:23:45 UTC

lets take the bible, it disproves other religions cuz its skylord says there is no other god

2018-11-08 14:23:52 UTC

how many physicists came up with a theory that was not proven in their lifetime but later proven.

2018-11-08 14:23:59 UTC

Tbh wol, extraordinary claims require extraordinary evidence.

2018-11-08 14:24:14 UTC

Wheres your evidence of them disproving themselves?

2018-11-08 14:24:24 UTC

By themselves

2018-11-08 14:24:26 UTC

physicists based it on mathematics though, they calculated it, it just hasn't been "proven" at the time

2018-11-08 14:24:28 UTC

@Dr.Wol i dont think the bible actualy says there are no other gods. Just that you ought not to follow them

2018-11-08 14:24:40 UTC

Eh, not sure if this is just a semantic argument at this point.

2018-11-08 14:24:46 UTC

@Cody what philosophical razor was that one again? Cant 'member

2018-11-08 14:24:51 UTC

You don't seem to know the difference between evidence and a thought.

2018-11-08 14:25:01 UTC

proof and a claim

2018-11-08 14:25:01 UTC

Occam's?

2018-11-08 14:25:07 UTC

or wait

2018-11-08 14:25:16 UTC

Sorry to hear your member doesnt get up

2018-11-08 14:25:28 UTC

Must be hard

2018-11-08 14:25:29 UTC

Occams razor is the one where the simple answer is most likely the real one
