If they decide to wage a war with their neighbor, they are on their own.
I agree
So does NATO
The last two president fought wars on behalf of other nations.
All our mutual defense treaties are defensive only
That is the reason we are in many wars.
The original nation that declared war on their neighbor just backs out and leaves us with the mess to clean up.
That is why when it comes to the nations we defend, they left a very sour note in my mouth.
Noninterference doesn't only involve military, also funding and weapons play a huge role
What war did Obama get in? We provided some logistical support for the Libya operation, but we didn't have troops on the ground
And we didn't even conquer their land and plunder their resources!
For having the best army, America is not very good at war.
Yes we did Cat. I know
I know, right? It's like the US is just really bad at this whole "biggest army on the planet" thing.
Iraq was a mess Bush started and no one can get out of
... Make me pres. I'll get us outta it in 2 years, tops.
Not what they were talking about, I believe.
@Dusty Morgan not just that, but with them mass importating people they diverted funds that should go do defending themselves toward paying incentives to get more migrants while expecting us to pay everything about defending them (while they call us nazis). As long as we are defending them they feel they are free to do any self harm they want because they will just blame us in the long run anyway
No one will like how I do it, because it would involve bombing them back to the stone age as step 1. But I promise, no more war for us to be involved in.
Mmm, on second thought, best to get our own house in order first.
The nations in EU and other nations we defend need a wake up call.
They allow their militaries to become weak, they rely on us too much, they then bitch if we decide to take care of our own nation.
Dusty , but Trump just ranted against France doing just that
Japan on the other hand... I am proud of Japan. They realized they need more than a defensive military, so they asked United States if they could. We gave them a go ahead because they need to be able to defend themselves and project power to discourage any foreign nation from invading them as well.
The proper way out is to step up and actually WAR in the places we're having 'war' in. Win them hands down and confidently. Then casually bow out and leave the world to its own devices. Let them clean up their own messes for a while.
10th... France is using the other European Union nations to fund their military. Taking the bulk of the military forces and placing them in France.
The problem with making "real" war in Iraq is that we would end up further inflaming the islamic world.
He said that Macron was a putz, then said that yes, they do need to build an actual army. Just not a unified European Union Army.
They are not growing their military from their own civilians and own nation's GDP.
I'll even be nice enough to help the EU with their current invasion. I'd drop a few missile boats in the mediterranean to blow up all of the invasion ships.
Each European Union needs to develop their own Military.
Good question, Jasse. We never should have done so.
Saddam was evil, but he was damn convenient
I never wanted to go to war with Iraq... I was only okay with Afghanstan because that were Osama Bin Laden was.
Exactly, Dusty
Besides... Pakistan needs to have some economic punishment for housing and protecting Osama Bin Laden when they knew we were looking for him,.'
Debatable. Toppling tyrants is bad for political stabilization, but it is true that we've allowed the Islamic control of the Middle East for far too long now.
This, again, should have been an issue solved by our grandfathers, but wasn't.
