They fear the lack of purpose that comes with not having a God or an ultimate principle to justify their life's meaning.

2018-11-20 23:23:45 UTC

Dude, so many people believe in religion because they're scared of death being a black void

2018-11-20 23:23:52 UTC

They love to hear the opposite.

2018-11-20 23:24:01 UTC

Many do, but certainly not all.

2018-11-20 23:24:08 UTC

Oh, right. #NotAll

2018-11-20 23:24:15 UTC

you know what a purpose in life is that odesn't involve god?

2018-11-20 23:24:21 UTC

I for a long time was not religious because I did not believe in an afterlife and thought to be religious I needed to.

2018-11-20 23:24:31 UTC

keeping the world a nice, tidy place and creating a wonderful environment for the next generation of your species.

2018-11-20 23:24:37 UTC

Watch my video right now.

2018-11-20 23:24:38 UTC

**Do it.**

2018-11-20 23:24:38 UTC

making a difference, even if it's small.

2018-11-20 23:25:17 UTC

A shallow answer that will leave one seeking more wether provable or not.

2018-11-20 23:25:45 UTC

to what, stuff that will inevitable cease to exist in less time then it takes a stellar body to blink? (light wavelength pun)

2018-11-20 23:26:15 UTC

Depends on your view of what is the fate of the Universe after its entropic death.

2018-11-20 23:26:50 UTC

any reason to contribute is the hope that there is something, something that gives those minor contributions meaning

2018-11-20 23:26:56 UTC

Time is relative and bound to Space and the Universe, it does not exist beyond it.

2018-11-20 23:27:17 UTC

something that doesn't just say it's all pointless and crumbling into the void anyway so why put it off

2018-11-20 23:27:17 UTC

as far as we know

2018-11-20 23:27:30 UTC

my brain is so wrinkly

2018-11-20 23:27:33 UTC

hue hue

2018-11-20 23:27:41 UTC

that you people are mental midgets

2018-11-20 23:27:57 UTC

You're right, as far as we know at the moment. Lack of evidence has never stopped us from hypothesizing though.

2018-11-20 23:28:25 UTC

And often a hypothesis can be a director towards evidence.

2018-11-20 23:28:40 UTC

true

2018-11-20 23:28:44 UTC

so i can't argue against it 😛

2018-11-20 23:29:35 UTC

Cue all the people hypothesizing their dicks are huge.

2018-11-20 23:29:43 UTC

I believe both religion and science to be sovereign spheres of thought. When it comes to the laws and nature of the Universe science holds sovereignty of religion.

2018-11-20 23:30:02 UTC

Religion does not have the right to contradict what is scientifically provable.

2018-11-20 23:30:13 UTC

I.E. evolution or the big bang

2018-11-20 23:30:29 UTC

well, science and religion aren't really exclusive

2018-11-20 23:30:56 UTC

Yes, but many on both sides would claim otherwise

2018-11-20 23:31:04 UTC

why and how something works is irrespective of what started it

2018-11-20 23:31:51 UTC

they are exclusive when it comes to facts, cuz one requires faith

2018-11-20 23:32:19 UTC

you have to have faith in the scientific method of evidence

2018-11-20 23:32:28 UTC

no you don't

2018-11-20 23:32:41 UTC

the scientific method will define it for you

2018-11-20 23:32:50 UTC

We defined the scientific method

2018-11-20 23:32:58 UTC

faith that their god created the universe and the rules of science itself which then was used to define existance?

2018-11-20 23:32:58 UTC

Science and Religion are not exclusive only due to the fact that old world religion was used as a tool to educate the masses about basic things that science of the time understood, but the masses were too stupid to take it as science, so it had to be imparted by the guise of religion.

2018-11-20 23:33:05 UTC

Based on how we perceive the universe
