Being a marine in war time is a big oof, half of all deployed Marines in Vietnam died, even higher in the WW2 Pacific.

Was actually watching some coast guard boot camp videos, they seem more tough then the Air Force. From how much shit people talk about them not being a real branch I expected it to lax. It’s rough. I think it’s because the coast guard tries very hard to keep up with the other branches.

Yeah, just picking on you, they are more physically active then the air force.

But the primary modern-day role of the coast guard is stopping immigration by sea, stopping drug trading and natural disaster relief.

They also focus on protecting marine life

Marines were originally only made to properly the navy

Originally the marines sole purpose was to be on the navy ships and protect the crew
