2019-10-04 04:05:36 UTC

even the military treats GED and High School Graduates differently

2019-10-04 04:05:41 UTC

Okay I agree with dornan

2019-10-04 04:06:00 UTC

Gotta get different ASVAB scores to do the same jobs

2019-10-04 04:06:09 UTC

I didn't even finish high school and am qualified in two trades, pursuing a third currently

2019-10-04 04:06:10 UTC

Honestly for the job stew wants, a ged is fine

2019-10-04 04:06:16 UTC

Oh that’s nonsense, a General Education Diploma has significant value; it’s not like any drop out can just get one without any classes or education. It isn’t so simple to get a GED. You genuinely work for it as you do a high school one.

2019-10-04 04:06:23 UTC

Yeah Australia is different

2019-10-04 04:06:41 UTC

Yeah but they’re literally viewing GEDs as less

2019-10-04 04:06:45 UTC

That’s fact

2019-10-04 04:06:45 UTC

Employers treat them differently

2019-10-04 04:06:49 UTC

Way differently

2019-10-04 04:06:50 UTC

Which is just poor judgement.

2019-10-04 04:06:56 UTC

I’d agree

2019-10-04 04:07:04 UTC

Where I live they're getting rid of GEDs

2019-10-04 04:07:05 UTC

I think

2019-10-04 04:07:10 UTC

You can get a regular diploma now

2019-10-04 04:07:13 UTC

regardless of age

2019-10-04 04:07:14 UTC

I have no education certificates, only trade certificates

2019-10-04 04:07:20 UTC

my grandma graduated the same class as me because of that

2019-10-04 04:07:27 UTC

Have you tried going back for an adult diploma? They are accredited, some school districts offer them.

2019-10-04 04:07:29 UTC

She got expelled because she got pregnant

2019-10-04 04:07:30 UTC

There’s no other way to describe how poor that kind of view and judgement is, it is absolutely poor and primitive, reeking of some sort of complex.

2019-10-04 04:07:37 UTC

A GED is valid.

2019-10-04 04:07:50 UTC

Not in the eyes of employers

2019-10-04 04:07:51 UTC

A GED is valid, but employers see it as the easy way out

2019-10-04 04:08:09 UTC

But again, like I said, for what stew is doing and wants to do, a ged is fine

2019-10-04 04:08:09 UTC

Employers are not the brightest in the world let’s just be realistic.

2019-10-04 04:08:09 UTC

A normal HS Diploma takes 12 years of education, a GED takes a few months of classes

2019-10-04 04:08:16 UTC

Stew, a GED is treated different.

2019-10-04 04:08:25 UTC

GED arguably takes more work in a short span of time.

2019-10-04 04:08:34 UTC

You can join the military with a GED, but only 10% are allowed, and you need a very high ASVAB score.

2019-10-04 04:08:41 UTC

Emphasis on arguably

2019-10-04 04:08:45 UTC

It took me a year to get my GED and I worked every day including weekends for the test.

2019-10-04 04:09:00 UTC

What country do you live in?

2019-10-04 04:09:00 UTC

The Air Force is actually starting to require a college degree

2019-10-04 04:09:07 UTC

Even for enlisted

2019-10-04 04:09:09 UTC

I hate auto correct I’m turning it off.

2019-10-04 04:09:09 UTC

Hi turning it off., I'm Dad!

2019-10-04 04:09:12 UTC

They want you to have an associates

2019-10-04 04:09:18 UTC

Lmao this bot
