I think the only way we could power any suit would be a battery.

But they’re still fucking heavy as hell

An exo-skeleton could negate the weight, as I said

Some tested exoskeletons can withstand several tons.

But we’re still trying to figure out how to properly power it, have it absorbs energy, and proper mobility

Weight lifting yeah I can see it’s withstand tons

But has it been field tested against incoming fire or an IED?

Mobility is a huge issue too, if it can't move a lot it's just a fun target for some Hadji with some cold war anti-tank rifle

You need a million parts for mobility, but strong enough to withstand weight and energy transfers

The Arbams has been modified over the years and can survive a lot of IEDs now

They have *bomb proof* transport vehicles now. Basically just a thick metal layer in the bottom. The vehicle is still fucked but you’re not instantly dead anymore

Really there's no counter to asymmetric warfare in general though

Yeah, I know, but IED's are still by far the most effective weapon against US soldiers, more men are killed by IED's than anything else.

So trying to use asymmetric warfare as an example as to why something wont work is really kind of a strawman

Even in fallout looking at the power armor there are severe weak points at the limbs for mobility

That was an issue knights had with plate armor but they seemed to get that down to a T with late medieval technology

Like in lord the rings, the orc armor was tough all hell but the weak points were their necks and arm pits
