morning folks, Pussy

2018-12-07 14:26:36 UTC

it's next week here, not morning.

2018-12-07 14:27:02 UTC

Wouldn't it be Saturday? That's same week

2018-12-07 14:27:11 UTC

It's wednesday

2018-12-07 14:27:17 UTC

Wew

2018-12-07 14:30:24 UTC

oh heya! @xorgy

2018-12-07 14:33:10 UTC

sargon was banned for hate speech

2018-12-07 14:33:34 UTC

oh from twatter,

2018-12-07 14:34:02 UTC

patreon too?

2018-12-07 14:35:02 UTC

@Timcast Patreos, which is a token which will run on EOS (so crypto, yes) is a couple of months away from release. Until then, we need to seriously promote all cryptos. Once the state blockchains are built, and they will be, the Chinese social credit rating will look like nothing.

2018-12-07 14:35:20 UTC

People like Sargon have only had years to create or support an alternative crowdfunding platform.

2018-12-07 14:35:48 UTC

Sargon isn't interested in creating an alternative.

2018-12-07 14:35:54 UTC

He's not a dev.

2018-12-07 14:36:05 UTC

He could promote alternatives, as Tim used to do.

2018-12-07 14:36:15 UTC

But now is the time to push crypto. It's cheap.

2018-12-07 14:36:27 UTC

He could endorse an open-source project.

2018-12-07 14:36:28 UTC

ALthough it will be cheaper in the next couple of months.

2018-12-07 14:37:06 UTC

According to Patreos: "It will be a platform for creators to be funded by fans and pledges. Similar concept, but of course token driven, and resistant to digital censorship and deplatforming--we can't boot you off of Patreos. :)"

2018-12-07 14:37:38 UTC

yeah this is where competition can greatly improve shit

2018-12-07 14:38:10 UTC

Who would you promote for a crypto payment processor?

2018-12-07 14:38:15 UTC

Dudes. You need to start supporting crypto. As a political donation, if nothing else.

2018-12-07 14:38:43 UTC

Well Patreos is building that right now. They had some legal issues with the SEC which slowed them down.

2018-12-07 14:39:37 UTC

hate speech doesn't exist. It's like saying if you kill a unicorn you are poaching.

2018-12-07 14:40:13 UTC

Aside from that, most crypto addresses are free. Most are free to receive (sender pays fee). Some are free for both (you pay by doing a little bit of processing on your PC for 30s). IOTA, Nano and EOS fit the last category I think.

2018-12-07 14:40:21 UTC

Seriously dudes, now's the time.

2018-12-07 14:41:12 UTC

Sargon was taken out for no reason other than that he was effectively undermining the mainstream narrative, and because he *isn't* an extremist that they can use as a pantomime bad guy.

2018-12-07 14:41:33 UTC

That's what people have to realise.

2018-12-07 14:42:00 UTC

And Tim Pool is probably only a little further down that path, even if he avoids using certain words.

2018-12-07 14:42:51 UTC

Because he is *not* a lunatic who is easily discredited and can be pointed to to frighten people away from speaking out against the establishment.

2018-12-07 14:43:33 UTC

So hows crypto gonna help?

2018-12-07 14:43:41 UTC

They are decentralised.

2018-12-07 14:43:45 UTC

How are YT memberships doing?

2018-12-07 14:44:11 UTC

This is totally epic

2018-12-07 14:44:16 UTC

I know YT takes a huge chunk. 😒

2018-12-07 14:44:31 UTC

So EOS, which is trying to build a decentralised internet, is essentially a network of 21 computers that token holders vote for.

2018-12-07 14:44:49 UTC

They are spread around the world (although there is too much power in China right now).

2018-12-07 14:45:14 UTC

And they will almost certainly release a social media platform which is built on the blockchain from the ground up in the next 6 months.

2018-12-07 14:45:17 UTC

crypto is
A: complicated, so the majority you wanna convince with your message won't even know how to make it happen that they can see it

B: Ultimately the government can run a fear-campaign to get people to submit to a blockade on the internet to like what China has, where the only way you can get anywhere is if its accepted

2018-12-07 14:45:31 UTC

Ok now this is epic

2018-12-07 14:46:09 UTC

It will not be possible to censor them, since they are geographically distributed, and if one network producer cooperates with an authoritarian state they can be voted out.

2018-12-07 14:46:20 UTC

It's designed by the guy who designed steemit.
