There is a fundamental moral difference between a man who sees his self-interest in production and a man who sees it in robbery. The evil of a robber does not lie in the fact that he pursues his own interests, but in what he regards as to his own interest; not in the fact that he pursues his values, but in what he chose to value; not in the fact that he wants to live, but in the fact that he wants to live on a subhuman level .
There's a reason why Ancap memes are called strawmen
The United States is not a free market, it's a mixed market economy
for a reason
Do you ask what moral obligation I owe to my fellow men? None—except the obligation I owe to myself, to material objects and to all of existence: rationality. I deal with men as my nature and theirs demands: by means of reason. I seek or desire nothing from them except such relations as they care to enter of their own voluntary choice. It is only with their mind that I can deal and only for my own self-interest, when they see that my interest coincides with theirs. When they don’t, I enter no relationship; I let dissenters go their way and I do not swerve from mine. I win by means of nothing but logic and I surrender to nothing but logic. I do not surrender my reason or deal with men who surrender theirs.
Now he's quoting...
lol
So mans interests dont matter?
voluntarism does not work
Like I said mercy of any group
it never will
"If you disagree with me, you're asking me to deny reason".
Now *that's* a quality strawman.
How is it rational for me to work against my own interests
?
Because your nature exists partially outside the individual.
Man is a social animal. His identity is partially communal.
How?
In so much as you are a part of a social whole, you have obligations to that society.
In what way?
Your consent to such a state was given when you became a part of it.
@EndangeredProdigy How?
why do you think solitary confinement is used as a punishment
Its painful because man cant pursue his values
no it's because we yearn for social connections
You have any studies?
let me find one real quick
What makes your claim more credible compared to mine?
Also how would man in nature survive without people?
man historically has congregated
that's why we have civilization
Apes are rarely solitary creatures as well.
We have civilization because man can use others as a means to achieve his goals
think of regulation. Back in the 80s then every single piece for every part of a computer was proprietary to model and manafacturer. It wasn't until the 90s that government made (and industry capitulated) standards spread and became common use. Think of what state the PC building world would be if it was still like that?
Apes are also social animals, astute observation.
https://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pmc/articles/PMC2756979/ thats a report on isolation @Existence is identity
People work alone crafting something all the time
even in a free market, there is a natural inclination to form a goverment of kinds anyway like the IEEE
Not an ancap
ancap just does what henry ford did and shoot dissenters
