In an ideal world, corporations should be allowed to do what they want, cuz people would be smart enough to just flip the market and support alternative platforms,
We don't live in an ideal world, so we need some leverage (the government) to maintain "some" control,
We lost that however as our governments are paid for by the very corporations the government is supposed to contain
@Swedishmafia101 Utilize the word Learned.
He may subscribe to that, but I subscribe to PewDiePie
LOL they used the comical fan art of Pewds that was in Pewdiepie's video
Oooh
Im out
@Zer0 You probablly are, just not the stereotype many have in there mind.
What fucking tools
I'm on both sides because I think that any idea that is uncontested soon becomes an echochamber that crawls up it's own ass to die, so I am all over the place because I think all forms of this need a counterpoint to anchor and balance itself
Imma call my girlfriend and tell her I'm a **LEARNED** person now
I am a radical centrist
i'm an analogue centrist 😉

Exactly!
Because in an ideal World, Corporations wouldn't do stuff that might hurt or even kill the User!.
But they do, they exist....
@Dr.Wol probably not best characterized as 'maintaining control' so much as some sort of corrective mechanism for the failure modes of capitalism.
I'm a fit centrist
* dabs *
yeah, i can agree with that Atkins
Information TERRORISM
In an ideal world Elon Musk made anime girls real
Capitalism is pretty good, but no human system is perfect. That's black and white thinking in a world of grey. All human systems fuck up eventually.
Its roughly what i meant,
Keep the market free, but if it starts becoming unbalanced, have government give it a little "nudge" in the right direction again
I quite college. started a business that made to much money to Warrant wasting it on a school that didn't have any teacher that could teach me anything. Sold the business to become a farming scholar. its winter so i now have time. to do scholarly things.
but not force it, cuz Government is bad at making choices 😄
its almost insulting to be called an academic. 😛
I love it when instead of debating ideas we devolve to debating how big brain we are
```Keep the market free, but if it starts becoming unbalanced, have government give it a little "nudge" in the right direction again```
Exactly my point. The Gouvernment has to look at the corporations that they don't abuse the Consumer and misuse them as well as the Market, so that they don't force other companys to do things their way.
Only an academic deals in absolutes.
well, thats a grey area already,
Who decides whats "abusing the consumer"?
wish i had a big brain.
Big gay
Big gay decides
noice
Look, as long as the coprs aren't colluding, chances are they are going to work in the best interest of the consumer
@Dr.Wol Don't do something with the Data the User gives you and don't do products that will hurt or kill the Consumer when used correctly.
competition is the best sauce
We all know gays have superior judgement
@Zer0 I'm happy for you, and yes, being called an academic now rarely comes with any respect. Keep to your research over the winter, come up with some new theory or something. Personally, even if it is sub-par to quality some professors paper may have, as long as you introduce something new to the field and develop it, you are contributing much more to society than any professor who just regurgitates the things his colleagues say.
Sooo, I had a discussion with an "intellectual" the other day... It was pretty interesting...
