true, but it's exceptionally customizable. you can use crye AVS back panels, mayflower clipped chest rigs (haley, ferro concepts you name it) with a bazillion different options for additional comfort pads on the inside panels and the shoulders, you can pretty much do everything with it and it's extremely high quality materials, lightweight yet distributes weight perfectly
