Besides being a fiend for warfare lol,what else you get into James
Like what are my interests or what am I INTO?
either or both my dude
Well I'm an construction guy (concrete, electrical, everything pretty much) but outside of work I've been practicing blacksmithing, I also do bjj and aikido (aikido is what I do for physical therapy), and other shit
good shit man ive thrown lumber for a house building group and I used to do some metal fuckery. make anything cool ?
Just got done cleaning/lubricating my dick
Phone is a potatoe
lol
Construction wise or blacksmithing? We've don't some high rises and some really nice houses (ik where all the rich locals are 😉) and for blacksmithing I've done swords, knives, railroads spikes as a practice, etc.
Blacksmithing is hella Based man
I wanna learn some shit
Shit looks fun
The heat, the hammers, heat treatment, etc. I wouldn't mind the hours or days or work
It is, the heat isn't really what you worry about tho (until you do moldings) it's the grinders and sanding that gets people hurt. I almost cut my eye out when a sanding disc flew off and it shattered my eyepro
I've done Sanding quite a bit
@James Warner blacksmithing
bruh lemme see them swords ❤️
Sanding metal is a bit h but fun, Love the slag and sparks everywhere
I have no professional experience or learnin' but I can weld like a mothefucker
Well not rn but it's my current project
Awh hell yeah man
How Clever is the Cleaver?
I'm making 3 blanks and I'm gonna forget weld them together
Forge welding is awesome as fuck man
I really wanna try making a Damascus steel chestplate but that's gonna be a fuckton of metal
I love the aesthetics of Damascus, especially eith the acid wash and how that shit brings out the layers and colors
Exactly
What's your favorite steel to work with? Hogh Carbon? Spring? Stainless?
I use whatever the thing I'm making needs but my favorite metal to work with is titanium just for the sheer fact I'm at risk of dying any second
Also, why do blacksmiths bounce the hammers like that?
@James Warner LOL
When you heat up metal it's only plyable for a short time so we try to move as much metal as possible during that time so bouncing the hammer lets us get more hits in before it cools down, even tho the very act of hitting it both heats it up a little more but also cools it down. Not sure if that's what you meant but 🤷🏻♂️
Again I'm no expert, I'm still learning
