there is no "side" to populism

You can only have liars, or actual populists

then they do nothing when they get in and the cycle continues

I have yet to see a representative with a career in politics actually perform exactly as they promised during their campaigns

They make impossible claims to hype themselves up in peoples' minds to get votes, then they get in, diddle around for a term and then do something cool to get back in for the next term

and people vote because "we'll get em next time"

No fucking honour in the Women's March and associated movements.

So, if a politician does not perform exactly as they said they would on campaign, they are not to be respected?

If they fail to uphold important promises that they made, no they are not

I think it kinda depends on what changes

and how

especially if they use those promises to get re-elected saying, "we can get it done if you give me another term"

e.g. I don't think anyone will be upset when The Wall turns out to be a great number of partial and complete barriers of all shapes and sizes and other security devices, to the same effect of a great wall.
