and there is a difference between the race and the religion. Although the are often mixed into one.
given that most "anti-semites" use physical characteristics as their "tells" for if someone is really a jew.
that i know, i have a big nose myself and have been mistaken as jewish before lol
anti-semite =/= anti Judaism. Although the work is poorly constructed for its current use because technically anyone afraid of an Arab is an "anti-semite".
Semite: " A member of a group of Semitic-speaking peoples of the Near East and northern Africa, including the Arabs, Arameans, Babylonians, Carthaginians, Ethiopians, Hebrews, and Phoenicians."
in common parlance though, anti-semite means anti-Jew
wow. another woman killed in austria.
yeah, when i fist learned about the word antisemite i wondered if it worked for all semitic religions
got stabbed in a store
you can, or should be, able to criticize the religion without criticizing the ethnicity. Although it is hard when everyone, including ethnic jews, conflate the two.
and being technically anti-Semitic towards any other Semites (besides Jews) is usually just deemed islamophobia
regardless of religion
or just racism
or xenophobia
or whatever
just like being against israel doesn't make you an anti-semite, although it is also conflated with all jews as well.
There's no consistency in the kind of people who use those terms so easily anyway
we don't know yet
yeah
i mean, criticizing the religion itself is fine, but it's the followers who do the things, not the texts themselves
but austria has 8 million people. it's not normal that we get 1-2 murders every week.
but american jews arent semites then right?
and allow the things to take place, by their subscription to said texts
basically everyone has worked hard to make that shit confusing. All sides. either to shield something from criticism or to work people into conspiracies.
there was a murder in a church not long ago
say hello to the culture enrichment
@Kibec if they are an ethnic jew, they are. If they converted to Judaism while being of some other ethnicity, particularly those which do not also fall under the term "semite", they are not.
Just like how being tied to the church and being protective of it allowed (and still allows probably) priests to diddle kids that easily. Being religious is being complicit in that sense. it becomes hard not to resent or at least hold in low regard people of a faith by association, even if individually people aren't bad apples
soo most of the american jews shouldnt be semites right? cus there is probability they are like 2nd or 3rd generation of jews in america, no?
technically no, but it's doesn't matter
that's not what anti-semitic means anymore
doesn't have anything to do with semites
im new here lol
*inhails*
yeah it is not like they care about facts and definitions
orange man bad
it's purely about Jews/Israel/Judaism
@Ranko i will counter and say being religious does not make you complicit as there are plenty of religious people in the same sect who do not support the church.
Well, shit, I guess in that case all Americans are complicit with the explosion of children in the Middle East.
sect like far-leftism xD dogma 1 : orange man bad xD
