but thats not the golden rule because you misunderstand it. You are adding an extra step, which is that people would be intellectually dishonest. But the rule isnt “ treat others the way you say you want to be treated” its how you would actually want to be treated. The fact that some ppl would lie about what they would do has no bearing on the fact that you should go about life with empathy
