But the rule isnt “ treat others the way you say you want to be treated” its how you would actually want to be treated. The fact that some ppl would lie about what they would do has no bearing on the fact that you should go about life with empathy

I kinda understand what Dr. Wol is saying. They *do* see themselves as some sort of "othered" outsiders, so they're able to project their own views into others and then empathize with those perceived identical people
