it wasn't necessarily *tiring*. things like I'd hurt the shit out of my knees and ankles. had enough issues with my spine that the high impact caused issues, which compounded into my ribcage. *that's* why I can't run, because the physical impact fucked up everything on the inside

biologically speaking, short muscle uses far more energy than long muscle fibres whilst in action. I was trained to have as much short muscle as possible. therefore, using the short fibre trained muscles for a task better suited to long fibre trained muscles uses a far larger proportion of energy.
