For every query, you can make up *some* explanation.

2020-02-22 04:02:47 UTC

Doesn't have to make much sense or have any evidence...our minds can figure out the gaps.

2020-02-22 04:02:55 UTC

Naw I stumped people on religious questions before

2020-02-22 04:03:08 UTC

We're very good at protecting ourselves from realizing where we contradict ourselves, our mind at least.

2020-02-22 04:03:27 UTC

The best one that people couldn't answer was where did god come from

2020-02-22 04:03:32 UTC

Heh.

2020-02-22 04:03:39 UTC

Ironically, even I am religious. But I'd hope that doesn't throw me into the same pile.

2020-02-22 04:03:45 UTC

Nope

2020-02-22 04:04:15 UTC

If you think it should be in politics or treat the scritpures literally instead of metaphorically then yes

2020-02-22 04:04:41 UTC

Thats what I'm against

2020-02-22 04:05:13 UTC

If I was a serial killer, this would be my argument against god: Is he willing to stop me, but not able?
Then he is not omnipotent.
Is he able, but not willing?
Then he is malevolent.
Is he both able and willing?
Then why am I still alive?
Is he neither able nor willing?
Then why call him God?

2020-02-22 04:05:25 UTC

I am mostly for whatever allows the most people to practice whatever they themselves believe, regardless of who it is.

2020-02-22 04:05:59 UTC

And yeah, for you Saturn, I don’t care what you believe in as long as you don’t go out of your way to try and convert people

2020-02-22 04:06:07 UTC

Like some nut job.

2020-02-22 04:06:17 UTC

Religion and spirituality is part of being human, I get that.

2020-02-22 04:06:21 UTC

I support the 1st ammendment except for the right to protest, I like it when I can go places in cities on highways without people standing there yelling

2020-02-22 04:06:26 UTC

As long as people don’t force it on others, it’s fine.

2020-02-22 04:07:14 UTC

That includes religion

2020-02-22 04:07:21 UTC

I think people absolutely have the right to protest, but the question is to what extent can those rights infringe on the well-being of others.

2020-02-22 04:07:26 UTC

Or even the convenience of others.

2020-02-22 04:07:53 UTC

Well if you stand in the middle of a busy road and stop ambulences from getting through I dont like it

2020-02-22 04:07:55 UTC

what kind of argument against god is that

2020-02-22 04:08:02 UTC

Evidently, a fun little fact, the 1st Amendment only protects citizens from discrimination of the Federal Government, not of the State Governments. That loop-hole wasn't fully solved until the 14th Amendment.

2020-02-22 04:08:07 UTC

That happened in milwalkee once

2020-02-22 04:08:12 UTC
2020-02-22 04:08:26 UTC

?

2020-02-22 04:08:40 UTC

Sure, for sake of argument if you infringe an Ambulance from going through, you are infringing on someone else's rights.

2020-02-22 04:08:46 UTC

So I can see a valid argument for that.

2020-02-22 04:08:52 UTC

Yep

2020-02-22 04:08:53 UTC

why do you call that an argument against god

2020-02-22 04:09:03 UTC

It is, more than anything, a postulate.

2020-02-22 04:09:35 UTC

@manga did you not read the context I gave? It’s essentially saying that if god existed, why do murders and hate still happen? Isn’t he omnipotent?

2020-02-22 04:09:48 UTC

ok

2020-02-22 04:09:59 UTC

im no religious person but i know the answer to that

2020-02-22 04:10:07 UTC

at least the answer given

2020-02-22 04:10:10 UTC

All knowing and all powerful

2020-02-22 04:10:20 UTC

Also, why does Christianity show god as a male? Why not a female, or maybe ungendered?

2020-02-22 04:10:20 UTC

To play a bit of a Devil's Advocate, should an Omnipotent God stop murders? And if so...why?

2020-02-22 04:10:39 UTC

ok

2020-02-22 04:10:43 UTC

If he doesn’t, he’s malevolent, which defeats the purpose of praying to him.

2020-02-22 04:11:00 UTC

i dont care much for this discussion i was just wondering
