2020-02-22 21:49:18 UTC

sure

2020-02-22 21:49:23 UTC

kind of besides the point

2020-02-22 21:49:26 UTC

then

2020-02-22 21:50:37 UTC

Is it, though.

2020-02-22 21:50:55 UTC

Welp, it is something you cannot blame for. The development of historical national pride normally originated from A. Normally is was used as a method to create celebration, which allowed large quantities of people to be together (pre-industrial) or B. As a political way for the state to create and homogenous spirit based on tradition; like, for example the *espirit the corps*.

2020-02-22 21:51:23 UTC

@Draško As I was saying, you personally don't really have a relationship to the past, other than being the product of some fuck

2020-02-22 21:51:52 UTC

i kind of understand your concerns regarding your compatriots not caring about you

2020-02-22 21:52:01 UTC

that's a shared mentality in the postindustrial era sadly

2020-02-22 21:52:06 UTC

it's very destructive and immoral imo

2020-02-22 21:52:51 UTC

To be fair, I've never been a fan of ethnic nationalism, so ancestry is something that doesn't quite convince me as a cohesive attribute

2020-02-22 21:53:58 UTC

funnily enough, despite being atheist, religious nationalism convinces me *more*.

2020-02-22 21:54:43 UTC

`that's a shared mentality in the postindustrial era sadly` indeed.

2020-02-22 21:55:37 UTC

@Draško what's your opinion on religious nationalism

2020-02-22 21:56:28 UTC

it's good

2020-02-22 21:56:37 UTC

unless you're wishing harm on other people, then it's bad

2020-02-22 21:56:47 UTC

but generally wishing the best for your own people is good

2020-02-22 21:58:44 UTC

religious nationalism is actually the thing I don't have an argument against, since you have people believing a common goal and set of rules, the ones in their religion, despite me being outspoken against religion itself.

2020-02-22 22:03:59 UTC

Properly Christian Nationalism would be the least of my concerns, if I'm honest

2020-02-22 22:09:59 UTC

What if it leads to a theocracy?

2020-02-22 22:16:17 UTC

religious nationalism is a bad version of civic nationalism lol

2020-02-22 22:18:00 UTC

you're right, it's a form of civic, and therefore less cringrey than ethnonationalism already

dead Africans can't demand gibs from the west.

2020-02-23 11:18:42 UTC

I looked up how much money gets poured into Africa annually and I came to the conclusion that we essentially sacrificed the stars for them.

2020-02-23 11:18:59 UTC

So you wanted Ebola to kill Africans?
