2019-01-13 22:52:31 UTC

@Based Rai well got withdrawals ATM

2019-01-13 22:52:32 UTC

orchestras don't really want music degrees, they want conservatoire accreditations, which are different but technically at the same level as a degree @That one muppet slut w/ a guitar

2019-01-13 22:52:41 UTC

art history at 3, thats a no brainer

2019-01-13 22:52:44 UTC

psychology..... color me shocked

2019-01-13 22:53:13 UTC

no gender studies 🤔

2019-01-13 22:53:17 UTC

@coattailsandbowties Lots of my uni friends went to conservatoires after their Honours degree to do Masters etc. Many are full-time employed in orchestras etc.

2019-01-13 22:53:32 UTC

Fight through em mate should pass @Dimorac

2019-01-13 22:53:36 UTC

@Ruger it's a really big thing atm tho

2019-01-13 22:53:40 UTC

In the UK with a compsci degree you can basically instantly get a fairly decent paying job. Then it goes up to higher with more experience. My current compsci teacher was making £100k/y but apparently it was draining

2019-01-13 22:53:42 UTC

you're almost guaranteed a job somewhere

2019-01-13 22:53:50 UTC

@Ruger thats just a communications degree.

2019-01-13 22:53:54 UTC

for whaman

2019-01-13 22:54:02 UTC

@Ruger I only did music because I wasn't good at anything else. And to be fair I make decent money from music.

2019-01-13 22:54:08 UTC

@Tailed Feature I was considering a postgrad somewhere for singing but I don't have *quite* enough skill for it.

2019-01-13 22:54:19 UTC

we dont really have "communications" degrees here i think

2019-01-13 22:54:22 UTC

mate of mine from southampton has a job offer he doesn't need to finish his degree and he has a 40k starting salary straight out of uni

2019-01-13 22:54:26 UTC

what a guy

2019-01-13 22:54:27 UTC

my voice just isn't quite there though I make a solid choir singer.

2019-01-13 22:54:48 UTC

It was voice that I studied. Then I got nodules. My voice hasn't been the same since.

2019-01-13 22:54:56 UTC

shit really???

2019-01-13 22:55:00 UTC

that's crap

2019-01-13 22:55:03 UTC

there are ''jobs'' for gen studies atm with the outrage culture but anyone taking one now will end up working in retail within 10 years

2019-01-13 22:55:06 UTC

Yeah, I dropped out of college so....

2019-01-13 22:55:27 UTC

And I have 2 useless qualifications in music

2019-01-13 22:55:58 UTC

@sweatercowsandsass drop out gang

2019-01-13 22:56:03 UTC

I'll be honest, I dont really know what I want to do

2019-01-13 22:56:06 UTC

Like career wise

2019-01-13 22:56:19 UTC

Me neither, Nicolle. 😉

2019-01-13 22:56:21 UTC

I thought I did know, but apparently not

2019-01-13 22:56:28 UTC

Gender studies doesn’t get you a ‘job’ but you can use it to build a career in journalism or activism

2019-01-13 22:56:42 UTC

i'm sorta just floating from job to job atm

2019-01-13 22:56:45 UTC

not fun

2019-01-13 22:56:48 UTC

Yeah same

2019-01-13 22:56:54 UTC

@Jim major corps hire them as diversity officers

2019-01-13 22:56:57 UTC

You’ll be freelance mostly. Almost all prominent grievance activists are

2019-01-13 22:56:58 UTC

it says something about the state of society atm that you can make a career out of activism

2019-01-13 22:57:00 UTC

but that trend is gonna go away

2019-01-13 22:57:02 UTC

Wish i had an actual outline of what i wanted to do tbh

2019-01-13 22:57:03 UTC

2019-01-13 22:57:07 UTC
