You guys should learn chemistry.

2019-01-16 21:02:58 UTC

if its involves pattern recognition id be gucci

2019-01-16 21:03:31 UTC

well, kinda. but you create your own patterns or need to understand others fucked up patterns.

2019-01-16 21:04:03 UTC

Just try slower and teach yourself at your own pace.

2019-01-16 21:04:06 UTC

@Turtle i tried, turns out I'm just depressed

2019-01-16 21:04:08 UTC

i used to do sql server work so meh cant be too crazy

2019-01-16 21:04:30 UTC

give it a shot, kinda similar but more structured.

2019-01-16 21:04:47 UTC

i ran the foreclosure sql server for BoA

2019-01-16 21:05:14 UTC

was a bitch at first but i got it

2019-01-16 21:05:18 UTC

Sounds like the teacher’s fault @Potato Man

2019-01-16 21:05:28 UTC

It's refactoring that's hard

2019-01-16 21:05:33 UTC

The UK education for compsci is autistic. In GCSE you learn bare min in python 2. Like to the point I didn't even know how to use functions until A level. And then A level "you should have learned an entire program language in GCSE lmao"

2019-01-16 21:05:53 UTC

I learnt a whole language in a HNC.

2019-01-16 21:05:56 UTC

lol when i was in HS we didn't even have compsci education really. it was still IT then

2019-01-16 21:06:15 UTC

Perl's still my favrourite language.

2019-01-16 21:06:21 UTC

Don't bother telling me.

2019-01-16 21:06:24 UTC

my IT """education""" was learning how to use the apple movie maker.

2019-01-16 21:06:26 UTC

it's criminal how underprepared courses make you for programming

2019-01-16 21:06:26 UTC

that's one of the things i find easy, then again i first got started 10 years ago.

2019-01-16 21:06:28 UTC

and we were writing stuff in visual basic in excel

2019-01-16 21:06:31 UTC

Aye tbf computer science for GCSE was just shoehorned in and only a few places did it

2019-01-16 21:06:38 UTC

i just paid a guy to do the js work i needed for my job

2019-01-16 21:06:40 UTC

lol

2019-01-16 21:06:54 UTC

Js is handy

2019-01-16 21:07:09 UTC

he made me handy tools to import/export data

2019-01-16 21:07:19 UTC

never released the tools to BoA

2019-01-16 21:07:25 UTC

took them with me when i left

2019-01-16 21:07:27 UTC

tshirt, some guy had an entire industry built around handing off the programming work he was given to these indians who he paid pittances to code for him, and he just did nothing all day

2019-01-16 21:07:51 UTC

i left BoA crippled for months when i left

2019-01-16 21:08:40 UTC

they had to hire 3 or 4 people to replace my role

2019-01-16 21:08:44 UTC

@cepe i'm sorry literally who the fuck are you

2019-01-16 21:08:48 UTC

^ you got used.

2019-01-16 21:08:55 UTC

iirc the two projects i did in IT that were "programming" was making a clone of *Who Wants to be a Millionaire* and making a business application with a login screen and a store page in excel, using visual basic for the logic.

now kids get hardware to take home n learn more useful languages n shit. lucky lil shits

2019-01-16 21:09:07 UTC

Someones on the scope

2019-01-16 21:09:18 UTC

That's massively different

2019-01-16 21:09:35 UTC

@Dead if that was directed at me then not really. i did fuck all for a good portion of my day. mostly smoked weed and played games while shit loaded

2019-01-16 21:09:36 UTC

I have 2 @Deleted User

2019-01-16 21:10:21 UTC

was querying 500k+ loans a day to make complex reports

2019-01-16 21:10:29 UTC

my cousin that's like 15 is learning to work with nodes already, when i first got started i had to bumble around by myself googling.

2019-01-16 21:10:50 UTC

@YeetshirtNinja why were you crippled afterwards though, not meaning to pry.
