The title

2019-02-12 16:17:58 UTC

Secondly Medicare creates excess demand which can lead to shortages

2019-02-12 16:18:09 UTC

Even with this the us healthcare system has the lowest waiting times

2019-02-12 16:18:13 UTC

Which is amazing

2019-02-12 16:18:19 UTC

And shows without it, it could be lower

2019-02-12 16:18:19 UTC

Yeah it also provides seniors with healthcare that a lot of them wouldn’t be able to afford

2019-02-12 16:18:22 UTC

Yes

2019-02-12 16:18:32 UTC

Which I’m not arguing here

2019-02-12 16:18:36 UTC

I’m saying private is far better

2019-02-12 16:18:52 UTC

Looks like it works great in Germany

2019-02-12 16:19:02 UTC

And the first graph says “percent of people who could **not** get an appointment within two months”

2019-02-12 16:19:13 UTC

Yeah

2019-02-12 16:19:14 UTC

This means 39% in Canada could not get an appointment within two months

2019-02-12 16:19:21 UTC

which proves the point of long waiting lines

2019-02-12 16:19:23 UTC

Yeah Canada is messed up

2019-02-12 16:19:31 UTC

Compared to 6% in the US

2019-02-12 16:19:38 UTC

Notice how all single payers are worse off in waiting times

2019-02-12 16:19:42 UTC

Compared to the private ones

2019-02-12 16:19:52 UTC

Nobody denies Canada’s long wait times tho I just don’t think it’s ONLY due to universal healthcare since there are some countries with universal healthcare who have shorter wait times

2019-02-12 16:19:57 UTC

Or hybrid systems ( France , Germany , Netherlands and Switzerland)

2019-02-12 16:20:03 UTC

Canada doesn’t have uni

2019-02-12 16:20:05 UTC

It has single payer

2019-02-12 16:20:11 UTC

It’s hospitals are inefficient state run

2019-02-12 16:20:43 UTC

That’s kinda sweet you care about older people

2019-02-12 16:20:45 UTC

It’s due to single payer, the free rider problem created by the excess demand of such “free” products

2019-02-12 16:20:54 UTC

And the inefficiencies of state run hospitals

2019-02-12 16:21:02 UTC

cause the shortages in Canada

2019-02-12 16:21:07 UTC

By shortages we mean waiting times

2019-02-12 16:23:20 UTC

@chad areas like Germany have a strong private sector

2019-02-12 16:23:26 UTC

And health insurance mandated

2019-02-12 16:23:37 UTC

No single payer etc, nothing like what Bernie supports

2019-02-12 16:25:40 UTC

I seriously don’t see a problem with having a full private system with little to no regulations so prices can drop, wait times can go down and quality can rise

2019-02-12 16:25:47 UTC

Not to mention it won’t be expensive on the tax payer

2019-02-12 16:25:54 UTC

Or the budget

2019-02-12 16:27:49 UTC

**also I’d like to add**
The US has such low wait times even despite the low doctor to population ratio it had compared to these other countries

2019-02-12 17:32:20 UTC

Dude, anecdote time:
Someone really close to me is going through breast cancer treatment. She found out about it in December and already had mastectomy by January.

While researching, I found a Canadian post regarding someone with the same type of cancer. They found out at the same time, December. The Canadian is STILL waiting for an oncologist appointment.

Canada is one of the worst places to be for crirical health conditions.

2019-02-12 17:55:52 UTC

Heyo

2019-02-12 18:48:40 UTC

yo

2019-02-12 19:15:13 UTC

Folks, the Jewish People do NOT have disproportionate Influence in our great Nation. AIPAC, CPAC, UANI, J Street, the RJC, and the NJDC have come out to tell me so. Many such Cases!

2019-02-12 19:38:15 UTC

Why you being such a liberal about this?
