The republicans who worked with obama to end the shutdown ended up getting voted out

To get something you done, you need to shutdown because you're not going to get anything done if you're giving up on everything you proposed for.

Yes but Trump needs to respect the constitution and how our government works, the founding fathers designed our government in a way where only things that are really popular that a majority of the congress passes can become law

Trump clearly doesn't respect that and will try to go around it to which is what he's doing now

Because he got millions of votes because of a wall, so he isn't going to give up on it, people knew that was his proposal in his first speech, and nobody prepared for a deal, they waited until now and nothing has been figured out.
