Do you want to take the text and do a couple of edits for clarify?

2018-12-18 08:40:16 UTC

No thank you mate, its your article, and besides, I'd like to see what @asparkofpyrokravte thinks about my opinion on that particular law

2018-12-18 08:41:56 UTC

Also I just started watching the final of the apprentice xD

2018-12-18 09:34:23 UTC

Alright then. It was actually @blueorange22 's article originally, but I made a lot of changes. I may have overstepped.

2018-12-18 14:32:42 UTC

@Men Are Human Canada is similar to the US in that it has pretty strict regional (provincal/state) vs federal separation of what can be legislated

2018-12-18 14:33:18 UTC

Everything that is in the https://menarehuman.com/canada-equal-pay/ is talking federal

2018-12-18 14:33:22 UTC

They are trying to spread this, though, aren't they?

2018-12-18 14:33:55 UTC

No need to say trying to. I didn't know about the equal pay act of 2018 actually before reading blueorange22's article, but that's a federal version of the formerly ontario legislation

2018-12-18 14:34:37 UTC

And the Employment Equity Act was federal from the start it seems

2018-12-18 14:34:52 UTC

I haven't had enough sleep to be talking about this, lol

2018-12-18 14:35:27 UTC

So, I'm guessing the article is right but the citation is just for the act covering Oneatro?

2018-12-18 14:35:57 UTC

no, the article is right and the citation is for the federal act (which also explains the history of the act, s tarting in ontario)

2018-12-18 14:36:19 UTC

the article is completely right in every way and right about Canada as a whole

2018-12-18 14:36:20 UTC

The link in the article is only for the 1987 pay equality act, needs to be updated to the 2018 one

2018-12-18 14:36:59 UTC

Oh

2018-12-18 14:37:01 UTC

I'm wrong

2018-12-18 14:37:06 UTC

Oh?

2018-12-18 14:37:08 UTC

Yeah, the citation is for the ontario-only version

2018-12-18 14:37:27 UTC

Okay, so what is the correct citation?

2018-12-18 14:37:49 UTC

Finding it now

2018-12-18 14:37:59 UTC

Thanks a lot

2018-12-18 14:43:25 UTC

Alright

2018-12-18 14:43:26 UTC

So

2018-12-18 14:43:40 UTC

That says the act is right about to become law

2018-12-18 14:43:48 UTC

There's the act

2018-12-18 14:44:05 UTC

Thanks a lot

2018-12-18 14:44:06 UTC

(search for Pay Equity Act)

2018-12-18 14:44:11 UTC

I'd never have found that

2018-12-18 14:44:19 UTC

And there is lots of news sources about this that are more...readable

2018-12-18 14:44:30 UTC

That isn't a drop-in citation yet

2018-12-18 14:44:32 UTC

I'm looking for that

2018-12-18 14:44:43 UTC

Okay, good

2018-12-18 14:45:21 UTC

@asparkofpyrokravte do you know of any occasions of the 1987 act being enforced? This new one is basically a rehash of that on a federal level right? I looked for an example of it being enforced but couldn't find any

2018-12-18 14:46:45 UTC

@InsaneCaterpilla That's a very good idea. Since it's on a national level now, I'm asuming it will be

2018-12-18 14:48:51 UTC

Hrm....

2018-12-18 14:49:08 UTC

This is the Ontario act text: https://www.ontario.ca/laws/statute/90p07
