It’s a rape culture fellas!

2019-01-27 05:44:00 UTC

I legit can’t tell if you are serious or not

2019-01-27 05:44:32 UTC

It’s also like almost 02:00 too though, so I have an excuse.

2019-01-27 06:11:41 UTC

Not being serious, if we where in a rape culture things would be much different

2019-01-27 06:12:06 UTC

Yes.

2019-01-27 06:15:30 UTC

Which is good, I’m glad we don’t live in a rape culture, rapists are evil and should be treated as such, the problem is that we as a culture are so against rape that when someone is falsely accused they are hung out to dry for something they didn’t do.

2019-01-27 06:16:14 UTC

Also if something as basic as looking at a women the wrong way is rape, then it makes it easier for actual scum to hide in all of the noise

2019-01-27 06:17:44 UTC

Right, the context is altered to an extent that is not appropriate for any meaningful sense of justice.

2019-01-27 06:33:30 UTC

The idea that we live in a rape culture is so hilariously flawed

2019-01-27 06:34:21 UTC

Personally, I think feminism is a bunch of people who have individually had bad experiences doing this: http://cogbtherapy.com/cbt-blog/cognitive-distortions-overgeneralizing

2019-01-27 13:26:36 UTC

Well I guess we are all in agreement, rapeists are evil and should be given what the deserve but it doesn’t mean 1) all males are rapist or 2) anyone accused of rape is automatically guilty.

2019-01-27 20:54:30 UTC

Yes

2019-01-27 20:55:05 UTC

The reality is most incidences of rape are perpetrated by repeat offenders, and they're a substantial minority of the population. These are individuals who fundamentally are antisocial and psychopathic. It's not as if you're going to teach them not to rape.

2019-01-27 21:04:06 UTC

@basedgringo You know, that does explain a lot of them.

Some possible good news.

2019-01-27 21:49:47 UTC

Long time overdue. Title IX is basically state sponsored discrimination at the moment.

2019-01-27 22:00:30 UTC

Indeed. And 'the champions of equality' are, naturally, going to rally against this change.

Most of the time on reddit you're just absolutely not allowed to post anything critical of women

2019-01-28 14:26:15 UTC

Unpopular opinions is something of a loophole, but there are forums there like /r/rage that are open to criticising men and women fairly equally.
