it will force conversations

2019-02-25 00:05:22 UTC

the next few days will be interesting

2019-02-25 00:10:04 UTC

So now women will be held to the same punishments if they dont sign up?

2019-02-25 00:15:27 UTC

Feminists will be protesting to end the draft completely now lol

2019-02-25 00:20:39 UTC

A lot I know say that was their original plan, yet I never saw action to do so. Only to keep women from it.

2019-02-25 00:45:55 UTC

No they still dont have to sign up

2019-02-25 00:50:01 UTC

Oh wow. what a major victory. Thanks NCFM!

2019-02-25 00:51:48 UTC

"The judge denied the government's request for a stay of the ruling."

2019-02-25 00:51:50 UTC

Oh my

2019-02-25 00:52:02 UTC

Awesomesauce!

2019-02-25 00:55:56 UTC

If they dont have to sign up how is it a victory, did this get rid of it all together?

2019-02-25 00:59:08 UTC

I don't think the government has an action plan on that yet

2019-02-25 00:59:11 UTC

It's the US government

2019-02-25 00:59:14 UTC

Give it 8 months or so

2019-02-25 01:00:47 UTC

The court ruling does not demand a specific action from the government. All that happens now is that the court has recognized that the government must do something. It is possible that until the court makes the government do something that a man could be acquitted of failure to sign up for the draft based on the ruling.

2019-02-25 01:01:14 UTC

its really important to note that this is a California decision... historically the US Supreme Court has a tendency to overturn decisions made in the West Coast

2019-02-25 01:01:43 UTC

the West Coast Supreme Court is very 'liberal' compared to the Supreme Court's much more 'conservative' verdicts

2019-02-25 01:01:54 UTC

its a great first step, but managing your expectations is important

2019-02-25 01:02:12 UTC

Also the NCFM makes lawsuits in California because it is really strict on the Equal Protection Clause. The broader US is usually not as strict

2019-02-25 01:02:54 UTC

I hope women have to sign up too. It's only fair.

2019-02-25 01:10:53 UTC

They won't

2019-02-25 01:11:07 UTC

There's no way they'll make them

2019-02-25 01:35:55 UTC

They might

2019-02-25 01:38:49 UTC

I get why they didn't have to initially

2019-02-25 01:39:25 UTC

They couldn't serve in combat roles but not they can

2019-02-25 01:43:12 UTC

The Selective Service System, if given the mission and modest additional resources, is capable of registering and drafting women with its existing infrastructure.

2019-02-25 01:46:20 UTC

My brother never registered

2019-02-25 01:48:59 UTC

It's odd that you have to register, yet they know if you didn't, therefore couldn't they just draft you anyway?

2019-02-25 13:23:57 UTC
2019-02-25 13:24:35 UTC

This same book was trending on the sub about an year ago

2019-02-25 13:24:54 UTC

it's a real book written by a feminist

2019-02-25 13:25:01 UTC

it's on amazon

2019-02-25 13:25:08 UTC

Idk

2019-02-25 13:25:21 UTC

If it's written by a feminist

2019-02-25 13:25:31 UTC

i think it is

2019-02-25 13:25:58 UTC

I'm not sure

2019-02-25 13:47:10 UTC

Seems purposely extreme.
