I should get back into drawing

2019-01-04 00:07:51 UTC

Lol yes you should :)

2019-01-04 00:37:27 UTC

Wow @Abbysol ! I’m also so impressed by art, I can’t draw at all

2019-01-04 00:38:15 UTC

Same, lol.

2019-01-04 00:38:20 UTC

I don't consider it a talent, I think being able to draw is a learned skill, just takes time and practice to get good

2019-01-04 00:38:38 UTC

I'm not even that good and I havent drawn in so long I am probably a bit rusty XD

2019-01-04 01:00:35 UTC

Some guy, possibly an alt account more native to /r/MensRights than /r/feminism, posted that to both /r/MensRights and /r/MensLib

2019-01-04 01:01:22 UTC

"In fact, I haven't seen [child custody] brought up here in months of following this sub"

2019-01-04 01:01:40 UTC

I felt that was really illustrative how /r/MensLib isn't a genuine men's movement

2019-01-04 01:02:50 UTC

Is he banned yet?

2019-01-04 01:03:19 UTC

I can't imagine they'll let it pass

2019-01-04 01:03:28 UTC

So far he and the menslib mod seem pretty cordial

2019-01-04 01:03:57 UTC

That's odd

2019-01-04 01:04:04 UTC

The account posted on /r/feminism a *lot* before this

2019-01-04 01:04:15 UTC

but also posted a few things to /r/MGTOW and /r/MGTOW2

2019-01-04 01:04:21 UTC

which is why I suspect an alt

2019-01-04 01:04:37 UTC

A cursory check would suggest the guy is a genuine menslibber

2019-01-04 01:05:13 UTC

/r/MensLib isn't as ban happy for people who participate in /r/MensRights stuff as /r/feminism so it is entirely possible that it will remain cordial

2019-01-04 01:05:57 UTC

..

2019-01-04 01:06:45 UTC

I even posted something relatively aggressive in the /r/MensLib side and got *upvoted* for it: https://www.reddit.com/r/MensLib/comments/abhu8j/mens_issues_regarding_child_custody_and_child/ed6cu9q/

2019-01-04 01:07:12 UTC

And the mod responded to me and didn't nail me

2019-01-04 01:07:21 UTC

/r/MensLib really isn't /r/feminism at all

2019-01-04 01:11:21 UTC

I don't know about that, they focus men's issues through the eyes of feminism, and a singular post on there and some (admittedly fair) comments on there isn't going to change my view on that overnight

2019-01-04 01:11:41 UTC

I'm clearly referring to moderation policy and not philosophy

2019-01-04 01:13:05 UTC

Even if MensLib wasn't basically the anti-male approach to men's issues, criticism of feminism is not allowed on MensLib -- which kneecaps the whole addressing men's issues thing.

2019-01-04 01:17:37 UTC

Which would seem to indicate their moderation policy is very different than mens rights, we don't ban criticism of what MRA's do

2019-01-04 01:19:26 UTC

Well, practically everywhere jas a very different moderation policy than MensRights

2019-01-04 01:19:51 UTC

but yeah

2019-01-04 01:21:38 UTC

Although, I would contend that that /r/MensLib, which is I think the 2nd largest sub on the topic of general men's issues (excluding more specific communities like /r/MGTOW) would basically *be* /r/MensRights if they didn't explicitly make it a feminist space

2019-01-04 01:21:57 UTC

which would defeat the purpose of /r/MensLib

2019-01-04 01:23:31 UTC

So to some degree I don't begrudge them some measure of culling as far as antifeminism goes (even if I think the idea of profeminist men's advocacy is a mistake), though they really seem to have gone ham on nailing it down.

2019-01-04 01:27:11 UTC

Perhaps it's unfortunate, but I do have to blame them for operating that way. It detracts from having the situation discussed in an open and logical manner, making it harder for men's issues to get headway

2019-01-04 01:28:00 UTC

I'd agree with that

2019-01-04 01:28:00 UTC

If we wanna continue we should probably go over to <#523922218200203265>

2019-01-04 01:28:12 UTC

Subreddit drama is <#523922218200203265>?
