speaking of Venezuela, you guys are informed on the fact that Venezuela's public revenues were utterly evaporated due to the US-Saudi oil war on Russia and Iran, right? That between 50-60% of the public revenues totally disappeared as a result? The collapse of that country wasn't exactly a domestically originated event. And in fact most data would back the argument up, showing that Venezuela was doing quite strongly on many indicators right up until 2012-2014 period when the shenanigans began and the country's economy suddenly collapsed

supply increased, prices fell, conspiracy against minor player..... if you want to cry conspiracy, do so against russia, not the fags in venezuela, but the USA is now an energy exporter as of 6 months after trump got into office, 4 months after he deregulated what obama regulated vie EO

extreme poverty rate also managed to be brought to historic lows under Chavez

heavy industry is high maintenance, and the gov did not do so, they gave the money to politicians instead of production

so now their output is way down and as prices are way down they are double screwed for their bad crude

and it is bad, it needs to be cut with light crude in order to be refined

So ultimately in Venezuela you had a functioning country that was making progress across a multitude of development indicators, both social and economic, and it was then brought down by factors ultimately external to itself and due to US geopolitics vs. Russia. So the "muh Venezuela" argument is really just very myopic and not very well informed.
