there was even Poverty before Chávez because

Like we can talk and exchange anecdotes all day but it will still be inferior to data and actual analysis of the economic and political factors at play

2019-01-03 04:45:16 UTC

After the Overtrown of Marcos Pérez Jiménez wich was a Military Dictator with Conservative and Nationalistic Policies

2019-01-03 04:45:32 UTC

the country was ruled for 40 years by Social-Democrats and Social-Christians

there's a lot of Crime rates in Venezuela

2019-01-03 04:46:30 UTC

Also Maduro was arguably the worst person to follow up on Chavez. He's completely incapable of doing anything and probably should be replaced *either* by a more competent figure within PSUV or, perhaps more preferably, by a leading figure of PCV

2019-01-03 04:46:32 UTC

now the Life Expectancy is lowering

2019-01-03 04:46:47 UTC

if Chávez was Still in Power, the same thing would happen

2019-01-03 04:46:51 UTC

What do you mean "a lot of crime rates"

2019-01-03 04:46:52 UTC

it's Socialism it doesn't work

2019-01-03 04:47:06 UTC

163 people in a single day dies in the capital city of Caracas

2019-01-03 04:47:09 UTC

Well in the sense that, yes, global capitalism ruined your country and it ruins it no matter who's the leader

2019-01-03 04:47:14 UTC

however, actual, real differences in policy can impact this

2019-01-03 04:47:26 UTC

@Honey Beanger I would assume English isn’t his first language so you probably can just piece together what he means.

2019-01-03 04:47:29 UTC

what is your argument of Global Capitalism destroying other countries?

2019-01-03 04:47:41 UTC

you repeated that like 4 times

2019-01-03 04:47:50 UTC

you sound like Maduro with his national broadcasts

2019-01-03 04:48:07 UTC

he always blames the USA for everything with his ridicolous "ECONOMIC WAR"

2019-01-03 04:48:38 UTC

@Flat and yes English is not my first language but at least i talk it

2019-01-03 04:48:51 UTC

@Flat yeah

2019-01-03 04:48:52 UTC

Global capitalism - that is not only the Saudi-US oil war on Russia and Iran which artificially manipulated the global oil prices and ruined the Venezuelan oil-heavy economy, but also the sanctions imposed upon it by US, Canada and EU (among others) that disable normal international economic activity from being carried out - are almost single handedly responsible for the state of Venezuela today, and have been in place since early 2010s which was when the crisis began.

2019-01-03 04:49:21 UTC

The Venezuelan Economical Crisis started when the Oil prices dropped

2019-01-03 04:49:35 UTC

Chávez centered the economy depending it on the OIL

2019-01-03 04:49:51 UTC

Literally the only product we were exporting was oil, and the rest was being Imported

2019-01-03 04:49:53 UTC

If I had to fault Venezuelan socialists for something in this, it would be two things

1) not diversifying the economy quickly enough (would have required planning)
2) not seizing the means of production and liquidating the capitalist power structure fast enough (to facilitate 1)

2019-01-03 04:50:15 UTC

they didn't diversify the means of production

2019-01-03 04:50:16 UTC

and 2

2019-01-03 04:50:25 UTC

yes they did seize some meanings of production

2019-01-03 04:50:33 UTC

as i said they expropiated plenty of properties

2019-01-03 04:50:45 UTC

farms, companies, airlines, etc

2019-01-03 04:51:06 UTC

They didn't control the means of production to begin with. And this was the *number one problem* with their gradualist, reformist praxis. They should've transformed the economy much quicker. They should've gone for full autonomy approach, or autarkic economic policy for the duration of the coming crisis.

2019-01-03 04:51:13 UTC

they did

2019-01-03 04:51:18 UTC

they did it

2019-01-03 04:51:20 UTC

They didn't

2019-01-03 04:51:20 UTC

no

2019-01-03 04:51:23 UTC

they really didn't

2019-01-03 04:51:28 UTC

Most of the Properties are State owned

2019-01-03 04:51:32 UTC

most of the economy remained in the hands of the capitalists

2019-01-03 04:51:33 UTC

the Private Sector is Small
