DUI? It's a victimless crime and hence shouldn't be punished, as per common law.

Common law is the law of the Land, unless you hurt someone, you are good to go.

Here in the leftist Communist state of California, apparently felons can vote as long as they have fully served their sentences. The mentally ill can also vote, but they have their social workers (usually Democrats) vote for them. Same with the elderly as their social workers also vote for them if they are disabled.

I don't get felons having served their sentences being denied their right to vote.

As long as a person is breathing even if aided by a ventilator, they can delegate their right to vote to someone else by power of attorney.

No one should be able to vote for someone else. Unless the person has broken both hands and can’t make their mark with a pen in their teeth but can explain who they want to vote for and why

Felonies should be repeat offenders and violent crimes. Lifelong loss of voting should depend on the crime I suppose. Hard to nail down a general rule imo
