Hail the holies

2020-01-16 16:58:23 UTC

That doesn't make sense

2020-01-16 16:58:28 UTC

holy, but plural

2020-01-16 16:58:45 UTC

I just wrote it like that, for a lack of better term on the spot

2020-01-16 16:58:46 UTC

Aint the plural of holy just holy?

2020-01-16 16:58:55 UTC

idk...

2020-01-16 16:59:18 UTC

but that doesn't seem to make sense, though.

2020-01-16 16:59:33 UTC

it doesn't fit with the rest

2020-01-16 16:59:50 UTC

A lot of what this band does doesn't make full sense

2020-01-16 17:00:03 UTC

They speak a lot in metaphors and this is a song about Brothers in arms

2020-01-16 17:00:12 UTC

So a lot of things about it don't have to make sense

2020-01-16 17:00:15 UTC

hm

2020-01-16 17:02:43 UTC

rethinking about the "death" part, I don't think it should be capitalised.

2020-01-16 17:03:28 UTC

I'll go check in the dictionary if there's a word that could correspond

2020-01-16 17:06:10 UTC

I'm not capitalising it, thats for sure

2020-01-16 17:24:33 UTC

hmmmmmmmmm....... at the moment, I'm going with "Vive le sacré"

2020-01-16 17:24:49 UTC

"Hail the holy"

2020-01-16 17:26:11 UTC

Alright, time to start rendering my video

2020-01-16 17:26:51 UTC

but it's hard to really pinpoint the word.
It's the only word that sound remotely like what he's saying.
... because the way it sounds in the song, it's like "vive le(s) shacrè-é"

2020-01-16 17:27:09 UTC

Par Hulkoff is not the best French speaker

2020-01-16 17:27:21 UTC

as he is a Swede

2020-01-16 17:27:59 UTC

it would translate to something like "hail they shoiley"

2020-01-16 17:28:26 UTC

ye, hail them holeys!

2020-01-16 17:28:29 UTC

<:KEK:465443054254424065>

2020-01-16 17:28:32 UTC

heh

2020-01-16 17:29:23 UTC

but yeah, it seems like it's "Vive le(s) sacré(s)"

2020-01-16 17:29:53 UTC

not sure if it's used in plural form.

2020-01-16 17:30:00 UTC

what's the song about?

2020-01-16 17:30:15 UTC

?

2020-01-16 17:30:22 UTC

song

2020-01-16 17:30:36 UTC

what's it about?

2020-01-16 17:31:02 UTC

It is about the singers brother in arms

2020-01-16 17:31:21 UTC

It sings about how they would answer the call together, fight together and die together

2020-01-16 17:31:51 UTC

hmmmm

2020-01-16 17:38:38 UTC

now I'm starting to think he's saying "Vive le chagrin"
"Hail (to) sadness"

2020-01-16 17:39:27 UTC

awww fuck

2020-01-16 17:40:26 UTC

.... re-re-re-relistening, it's "Vive le sacré"

2020-01-16 17:42:38 UTC

in my point of view, this line doesn't fit with the rest..... but maybe that's just a cultural difference

2020-01-16 17:43:03 UTC

Probably just a cultural difference

2020-01-16 17:43:28 UTC

And maybe and translation error

2020-01-16 17:45:54 UTC

Maybe in Swedish the word he wanted to say was more akin to God..... But here, with no sign to point to that it's supposed to mean God, it's just "the holy".
Hell, in French, God is not refered to as "le Sacré"
