2/4 Panic during a major pandemic can kill as many (if not more) people than the disease it’s self. When things get bad enough people will try to steal from or kill each other especially if there are shortages and panic. While I would not expect running gun battles every day (contrary to what Hollywood might have you believe) it would still be prudent for one to have reliable methods of defense against those who would take everything from you. Defense: Two categories Lethal: AR15/AK/Mini14 style rifle would probably be best but if you have something already no need to switch 9mm pistol small enough for you to conceal carry 12 gauge shotgun preferably pump or semi .22lr repeating rifle .22lr pistol At least 2-3k rounds per rifle At least 2-3k rounds per pistol At least 5-10k rounds of .22 (small game) 6-8 magazines per rifle 4-5 magazines per pistol 2-3 magazines per .22 Gear to transport firearms/ammo/equipment Less than Lethal: Pepper Spray Tasers Blinding/disorienting lights It would be foolish to assume that forms of communication like cell phones or the internet would continue to be reliable when a pandemic hit. Maintenance of the infrastructure needed to for these systems would become secondary to dealing with disease. Add to that how unreliable cellphone networks can be are and you could end up with no way to communicate quickly other than at very short distances. Communication: Walkie talkies/radios Flare gun flares (for nighttime signaling), 12 gauge if a shotgun would be more handy Smoke flares (for daytime signaling) Codes for sending messages Call-phrases (ex. Q: Thunder A: Flash) Networking (communication through neighbors/community) Ect.: Water filters or water filtration system Gardening equipment Duct Tape Spare batteries

3/4 Quarantine Procedure: • A minimum 2 week quarantine must be established on any individual who is not part of the initial group and who the group has decided to let in. • Quarantine may also be established if an individual has made contact with someone they believe to be infected, had a breach in protective gear, or has 2019-nCoV symptoms. • quarantine building should be a non-vital structure such as a chicken coop or an unused machine shed. • Food rations are to be delivered by an individual wearing protective gear (see protective gear) and should be placed near the individual so as to avoid direct contact • Dishes/silverware are to be washed in a chlorine solution after use and separated from the rest of the dishes/silverware in use. • If there are no symptoms after the 2 week time that 2019-nCoV would incubate then the individual can be removed from quarantine. • If symptoms occur individual should be kept in quarantine for an additional 2 weeks after symptoms subside. Protective gear: • Goggles • Disposable Facemask/Painters mask/Gasmask • Surgical gloves Decontamination Procedure: To decontaminate protective gear before removal, wash your gloves in warm soapy water, then in a solution of 6 ounces bleach in 1 gallon of water. The soap removes gross contamination, the bleach takes care of remaining pathogens. The bleach needs to stay in contact for at least 2 minutes. Dry gloves with paper towels, then remove your eyepro and respirator, being careful to not touch the filter parts of the respirator. Set respirator and eyepro aside for later decon. A lidded bucket is good for this.

4/4 Remove gloves by pinching one cuff below the edge and pulling it down. The glove should be turning inside out as you pull it off. When the first glove is removed, hold it loosely in your gloved hand. With 2 fingers, pinch the cuff edge of the remaining glove and peel it down off of your hand, encapsulating the other glove as you go. When you’re done, you’ll have an inside out glove tweezed between 2 fingers with the other glove wadded up inside. Dispose of in a covered container. Wash your hands with Hibiclens or comparable soap, for at least 60 seconds. Finish by washing your face with an antimicrobial soap. Wound cleansers work well for this purpose. Other concerns: • Human waste could cause other illnesses to crop up; building an outhouse in the event of a pandemic would be a priority. • Depending on the rate of death by 2019-nCoV people that we know could die. This means that we would probably need to burn the bodies of infected as there may not be enough room for everyone and it is the most reliable way to prevent the spread of any disease from a dead body would be to incinerate the corpse. • Travel to and from settlements/towns should be limited to what is absolutely necessary as contact with large groups of people who could have 2019-nCoV drastically increases the risk of contracting the infection. Additionally, the chances that a town would have vital supplies will be low following the announcement of infection spread in a local area as people start to panic buy. • Starting a garden should be a primary priority as canned foods will only last so long. Lentils are a hardy staple and dry, store-bought, lentils can be planted. Other vegetable seeds in the cellar should also be used. • Protein will also be an issue; hunting can make up for this in the short-run however chickens, guineas, or cattle are more sustainable in the long run and pose fewer risks.

I like it

2020-02-29 19:19:59 UTC

you mind giving me the prepper role too dubya

2020-02-29 19:20:03 UTC

would 50% KNO3 work for black powder?

2020-02-29 19:20:14 UTC

also I need the prepper role too

2020-02-29 19:21:48 UTC

thank ye

2020-02-29 19:22:27 UTC

same here yeeterino

2020-02-29 19:23:16 UTC

can I use finely ground black powder or am I forced to use FFG (2F)?

2020-02-29 19:23:38 UTC

would I need to use a stronger barrel for extraordinarily fine powder?

2020-02-29 19:24:07 UTC

Depends on the amount of grams you put in

2020-02-29 19:24:25 UTC

Doesn’t matter how fine the power is

2020-02-29 19:24:51 UTC

Also consider the weight of the projectile you’re firing

2020-02-29 19:25:04 UTC

And diameter of the barrel

2020-02-29 19:25:13 UTC

this one website said that if the powder is too fine the pressure rises too quickly

2020-02-29 19:25:34 UTC

there's a reason they use different grain sizes in modern rifles

2020-02-29 19:25:52 UTC

look at the grain size used in 50bmg and 22lr

2020-02-29 19:26:23 UTC

Idk much about black powder rifles, I’d just look at forums about it to get your best answer

2020-02-29 19:26:30 UTC

this book says "for academic study only" so it should be ok

thanks to both of you

found this is another pdf

Commonly called “Four F”, this is the finest
granulation and is used for priming flintlocks.
Due to its rather limited use, it is usually
somewhat difficult to obtain. When necessary,
FFFG may be substituted. There is no
Pyrodex equivalent.
FFFG/Pyrodex “P”
Commonly called “Triple F”, this powder is
used in most single shot pistols and all
percussion revolvers. It is also popular for all
smaller caliber rifles up to and including 50
caliber. When FFFFG is not available, FFFG
may be used to prime a flint lock.
FFG/Pyrodex “RS” and “Select”
Commonly called “Double F”, this is a popular
powder for rifles over 50 caliber and up to 75
caliber. Also used in the larger caliber single
shot pistols and most shotguns.
FG
Commonly called “Single F”, this is the
coarsest granulation used for small arms. Use
is pretty much restricted to rifles over 75 caliber
and large bore shotguns. There is no
Pyrodex equivalent.

https://www.primalsurvivor.net/homemade-shotgun-shells/ also this for anyone interested in the same thing

2020-02-29 19:43:51 UTC

I also have 6 7.62x54R shells that I could reload but it would be hard to machine something for them with my tools

2020-02-29 19:44:02 UTC

all I need now is a good 12 gauge tube

2020-02-29 19:44:07 UTC

would mild steel work?

2020-02-29 19:44:17 UTC

or do I need hardened stuff?

2020-02-29 19:44:57 UTC

if i recall pressure on a 12 gauge is actually really low like at 12k psi so i would guess just black iron pipe would work

2020-02-29 19:45:05 UTC

dont quote me on that tho

2020-02-29 19:45:19 UTC

if unshure use whatever is safer

2020-02-29 19:53:40 UTC

It all depends on how long you need it to work for
