I originally fucked up and thoughtmixing black spray paint with water would be an easy way to make a dark wash but ooh boy was I wrong

2019-10-24 22:05:24 UTC

So I had to repaint the base and go from there

2019-10-24 22:05:44 UTC

But now I come into another issue

2019-10-24 22:06:07 UTC

The mask in the movie in question wasn't nearly this dark

2019-10-24 22:06:59 UTC

Dry brush some white over it

2019-10-24 22:07:08 UTC

Should help lighten the color

2019-10-24 22:07:30 UTC

Just be careful when going around the red triangle

2019-10-24 22:08:22 UTC

Alright that's what I was thinking. I'll just have to be careful

2019-10-24 22:08:34 UTC

Also just for reference

2019-10-24 22:10:41 UTC

fuck that's still good tho

2019-10-24 22:10:42 UTC

Could also maybe go over it softly with fine grit sandpaper.

2019-10-24 22:11:09 UTC

they got a replica of the hockey mask from Part 4 at this one "nerd" store, but it's 40 bucks

2019-10-24 22:11:39 UTC

Pretty sure I can make one just as screen accurate for less than that

2019-10-24 22:12:04 UTC

Oof the base for this was like 5 bucks but I've invested probably 20 in supplies

2019-10-24 22:12:35 UTC

yeah

2019-10-24 22:12:56 UTC

If you're got the right supplies and know-how, you can make a pretty good mask for around 20-25 bucks

2019-10-24 22:13:00 UTC

hell maybe even less than that

2019-10-24 22:13:43 UTC

True

2019-10-24 22:14:04 UTC

are you going for Part 6 appearance?

2019-10-24 22:14:09 UTC

Well for now I think I'll attempt to just do a light dry brush

2019-10-24 22:14:12 UTC

Yeah

2019-10-24 22:14:31 UTC

This'll prob help maybe

2019-10-24 22:15:07 UTC

If you're going for complete accuracy? I can tell you that Jason has a 1970s US Army ALICE gear belt.

2019-10-24 22:15:34 UTC

I actually got most of the costume already

2019-10-24 22:15:43 UTC

oh

2019-10-24 22:15:56 UTC

And that guy in the vid gets ridiculously lucky finds

2019-10-24 22:16:01 UTC

right?

2019-10-24 22:16:09 UTC

Really good budget cosplay

2019-10-24 22:16:46 UTC

Not sure what kinda ALICE belt, but it's something similar

2019-10-24 22:16:53 UTC

guess it doesn't matter, as long as it's similar

2019-10-24 22:17:03 UTC

Yeah. And as for the belt I'm just using gun belts of the right color and holes

2019-10-24 22:17:49 UTC

I was gonna use sheaths and have accurate stuff bit I got worried it'd spook the bars

2019-10-24 22:18:04 UTC

big spook

2019-10-24 22:18:14 UTC

Since it is for a pub crawl

2019-10-24 22:18:25 UTC

I'll post pics of the belt
