I get angry when I see people using rows of water in minecraft farms.
Every pro-gamer knows one water block affects a 5x5 area of tilled earth.

I just use exploits to make a entirely smooth farm by putting water sources under half blocks
Staying on the bottom it will fertilise unlimited depth and leave no water everywhere, it'll just appear like your crops are growing out of nothing.
Been like that since they made water flow around blocks for the aquatic update
You can also just panel a entire ocean platform out in half blocks to conserve materials and bucket the under-layers to make it mould and look like its floating
