You have to use lots of in-game currency, just to roll the dice on if an item or character you want to upgrade will get upgraded.
You have to pay to unequip items (or destroy them).

Hell, even a on Youtube there's a video review by a "whale" wasn't favorable on the game. He was put off by the game being counter-consumer.

They would probably rather play those city building games like clash of clans or something
