2018-12-12 18:03:24 UTC

I looked for that, but my Google fu is week on guns

2018-12-12 18:03:33 UTC

Thanks so much, it's exactly what i needed!

2018-12-12 18:04:15 UTC

Looks like i should be able to do exactly what i was thinking. Doesn't look like i need to remove the mainspring either, which is good

2018-12-12 18:04:39 UTC

Since this stock doesn't have that handy hole. Thanks, Spain

2018-12-12 22:32:51 UTC

I’m debating cutting the barrel down to forward of the piece of tape. 18 inches is just behind the tape in the middle of the hole. Forgot to measure over all length. I’ll need to move the sight at some point, and this girl already kicks like a mule. What do y’all think?

is it a Rem 870?

2018-12-12 23:24:07 UTC

why not just get a new barrel, they're pretty cheap

2018-12-12 23:25:18 UTC

It’s not. It’s a $99 dollar single shot from Walmart.

2018-12-12 23:25:54 UTC

Saw that bitch off and thread in a sight

2018-12-12 23:26:05 UTC

Get a machinist to do the sight if you cannot

2018-12-12 23:26:20 UTC

Or leave it

2018-12-12 23:28:27 UTC

I don’t know any machinists. Some of the sporting goods stores have clip on fiber optic sights I might mod on in the mean time.

2018-12-12 23:29:22 UTC

Epoxy bb to top

2018-12-12 23:29:31 UTC

JB weld

2018-12-12 23:29:43 UTC

silver solder it

2018-12-12 23:30:28 UTC

Just use one of the neon colored clear .12 gram airsoft bb's

2018-12-12 23:34:02 UTC

No. Ima do it right.

2018-12-12 23:36:14 UTC

>Do it right
>on a $99 single shot

Gorilla gluing a BB to the rib is about as right as it gets on those

2018-12-12 23:37:08 UTC

Hack saw

2018-12-12 23:38:53 UTC

I’d do it now if there was a vice in the house. Two hacksaws, no vice. Not sure where the files are so I’ll have to use the SAK for that. No emery cloth.

2018-12-12 23:44:24 UTC

sit on it and hacksaw the barrel off

2018-12-12 23:44:30 UTC

no vice reqd

2018-12-12 23:47:04 UTC

Alright. Fuck it.

2018-12-13 00:31:18 UTC

Uh. A vice would help a lot.

2018-12-13 00:31:24 UTC

Also, a file to clean it up after

2018-12-13 00:31:48 UTC

There are plenty of fiber bead sights that have double stick tape.

2018-12-13 01:19:38 UTC

Fuck this I’m going to get a vice and an angle grinder.

2018-12-13 01:47:03 UTC

the evolution of bubba's shotgun modding

2018-12-13 02:35:12 UTC

So, the barrel is off, but i have significant filing to do.

2018-12-13 10:32:26 UTC

You need a vice and a file.

2018-12-13 10:32:35 UTC

And work it gently.

2018-12-13 10:32:50 UTC

You don't know any machinists? Okay. What you can do is contact a shop you find and they can easily thread in a post sight.

2018-12-13 10:33:03 UTC

Where my Sata nigga at, I am supposed to make him some new grips

2018-12-14 00:36:01 UTC

That’s also me. Ended up taking a saw to it again. Got a good cut with minimal hiccups. Filing and sanding are next.

2018-12-14 00:37:47 UTC

Real shit harbor freight tap and a drill

2018-12-14 00:40:58 UTC

Eh. I’d rather sand. Gives me more control. Almost finished anyway.

2018-12-14 00:44:58 UTC

When you go for the new bead

2018-12-14 01:07:04 UTC

Eventually.

2018-12-14 02:15:44 UTC

Like I said, plenty of fiber beads that stick on with double stick tape. No need to tap. I’ve had one that’s going on 3 years of hard competition use.
