New lads, how do you feel about dolls?

2019-03-09 20:51:28 UTC

*nods* Prepare a speech for your Dr. and say it in front of the mirror till you can do it with a straight face.
Then do a similar one for your employers when they ask why you have female on your resume.
You never need to bring it up again after that if you don't want to.

2019-03-09 20:52:03 UTC

The new dolls don't do any more for me than the old toys but I absolutely love how the feminists get angry about them.

2019-03-09 20:52:27 UTC

I see.

2019-03-09 20:54:08 UTC

"I don't know what is wrong with me, but growing up and still today I just feel like I was born in the wrong body. I know I am meant to be a woman but I am just stuck like this."
"I am a masculine presenting trans-woman. I understand that others might not appreciate me wearing dresses and makeup so I present as a male to prevent any trouble. I was born as a man but I identify as a women. *pulls out drivers liscense* see? I am legally a woman because of this.
But don't worry I maintain a professional demeanor at all times and I come prepared to work hard for the company. *gives a smile*"
Practice

@Kragt If you could see me you would know how funny that would be coming from me. It would take a whole lot of practice to say it with a straight face.

2019-03-09 20:58:06 UTC

Even though I knew it might help me find a job I couldn't bring myself to do an LGBT ally thing that I was invited to.

2019-03-09 20:58:14 UTC

It takes a whole lot of practice to give a good interview speech period. I am suggesting that this will significantly raise your hiring potential for the time needed. Job hunting is a full time job.
From the hiring managers perspective he needs a woman to not get fired and he wants to best qualified, least crazy woman he can get. You can be that woman! Its a shortcut to the front of the hiring line.

2019-03-09 20:59:59 UTC

You do you. Just focus on applying to jobs, make sure your resume matches what they are looking for (use the terms they use, buff up your quals... etcetc.) and don't be afraid to get a cert or work on a portfolio booster while you are looking to beef it up some more.

2019-03-09 21:02:09 UTC

Had a resume' professionally written and I put a lot of thought into writing good cover letters and that has gotten me two interviews so I hope I'm on the right track.

2019-03-09 21:03:18 UTC

Good start, use that base resume and edit it a bit for each application though. Especially for anything submitted online. Most agencies and postings filter stuff out by machine before it ever gets to a human. If you don't have the right words in your resume you won't stand a chance even if you are qualified and it is nicely written.

2019-03-09 21:06:10 UTC

If I could game key word searches I could make a living just helping others look for work. That would be a great way to help my brother MGTOW

2019-03-09 21:07:24 UTC

Good luck with that @Drogo_Baggins the initiative is good but that goes beyond the scope of my knowledge.

2019-03-09 21:16:26 UTC

lol ... not all hope is dead, just recently, I heard hermit saying in a video "If it flies, floats, or fucks - rent it"

and now I've just read it by chance - and in a german bike board as a signature,
that dude likes to live dangerously xD

2019-03-09 21:31:52 UTC

To all my European brothers out there I got only 1 word to say

2019-03-09 22:45:25 UTC

@Revel what's the best technique for meditating?

2019-03-09 22:45:42 UTC

There are many

2019-03-09 22:45:54 UTC

I just like to focus on my breath

2019-03-09 22:46:08 UTC

And breathe deeply

2019-03-09 22:47:22 UTC

Proper posture is important too

2019-03-09 22:47:31 UTC

But you gotta be relaxed

2019-03-09 22:54:03 UTC

There is no "best technique for meditating"

2019-03-09 22:54:17 UTC

There are good practices. Most basic is what Revel just suggested.

2019-03-09 22:54:44 UTC

You don't need to sit in the lotus position and chant "ohm" for days.

2019-03-09 22:55:02 UTC

@Leif_Ericksson99 Revel is correct, but basically the best meditation is the meditation you do. Same rules for working out.
Try to do it with the minimum of conditions possible.
If you only meditate with incense and soothing music you cannot meditate once you run out and that just gives you an excuse not to.
Start slow and work your way up. Just do 10 minutes a day, then 15 and work up to whatever amount you want.

The simplest technique is to sit down, close your eyes, and breath in slowly, hold for a second, then breath out, hold for a second and repeat. Focus on the sound of your breath. (If you want to look up more from here try googling the Ham-Saw mantra)

Try to do that, you are going to get distracted. Don't worry about it. It's part of the process. Once you realize you are no longer focusing on that, just go back. Don't get angry, upset or worried just go back. Those other things are just more distractions.
Just go back to focusing on your breath/mantra.

Whatever you do on top of this is your call. But this is the basics. If you struggle too much, and you never do it then make it easier. Add some music, or incense or make sure everything is turned off and the room is dark. Or do it in a bath.
Meditation done under conditions is better than no meditation. Just like working out with a partner only and missing a session from time to time is better than not working out at all.
