@Thomas O'Malley Biden will be the Democratic nominee for 2020 since he has the best chance of defeating Trump which is the #1 priority for democrats. Even the lack of diversity will be forgiven if they can force Trump out of the Oval Office.

They are voting for candidates based on their race, not qualifications.
