Harris a woman of color, so she's the perfect spokesperson for the coalition of the ascendant.
Yeah thats true and shes widely liked, but shes white presenting in a way that obama wasnt
Shes the kind of people that I think white dems, the ones that are left, would vote for, but not the blacks en masse. Definitely not black men
She's half Jamaican and half Indian.
She's just as black as Obama, believe it or not.
papa johns > all
not only are you wrong, but you're fucking stupid as well
la la la la laaa la
Dominoes
ligma nuts nigga
@Thomas O'Malley my point is she doesnt have the same appeal
shes much more white presenting than obama
blacks here also have a very macho culture. I dont think theyd go for her. Shes too young and too female.
Okay fair enough. But if she gets nominated, and I think she will, Black people will still vote for her.
They voted for Hillary Clinton, John Kerry, and Al Gore despite them being boring old white people. They'll certainly vote for one of their own, no matter how boring he or she is.
Nah, Hillary might try again, but if she does she will lose.
That's why I hope she does run again.
However, Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez will more than likely make a potential winning run for it within 10 years or so. Becomming first female president and youngest president.
She can win in a deep blue district, but not in the rest of the country.
In fact the DNC may finally nut up, and backstab HIllary by letting her run again so they can declare her over and pave the way for cortez.
She'll probably come out as bisexual or somehting like that and clench it.
My friends and I used to do that back in the late 90's. Creat the optimal Democratic candidate.
I think we came up with "A half black, half native american, bisexual, wheelchair bound. single mother, who did not speak fluent english and had HIV"
Cortez is too far left to win. The Democrats tried this before with McGovern in 1972 and he lost in a landslide.
She's not going to run against trump in 2020. I'm thinking 2024, 2028.
Many Democrats are center left and they aren't going to vote for someone who called the abolish ICE.
Even Bernie came out against abolishing ICE.
The will if she's groomed and set up for around eight or so years.
Obama was against gay marriage at one point.
There are also all kinds of stories about what a radical he was in college.
So you think she'll move to the center?
Yeah Obama's mentor was a communist terrorist named Bill Ayers.
A bit, at least on the record. That's part of the grooming process.
Learning proper Optics and PR stuff.
On the other hand, Obama only became famous after his speech at the 2004 Democratic convention. By that time he had already given up being a radical. Cortez entered the public eye as a radical.
I think the "radical" thing is also going to matter less and less moving forward. U.S. politics has been a game of race to the bottom underhandedness since the nixosn administration. Possibly earlier.
Nixon did nothing wrong. By that I mean a lot less than previous presidents had done. However, because he wasn't as charasmatic as some previous presidents the leftist media decided to flex their muscles by destroying him.
However, that was a bad move in the long term because it set up a whole series of bad prescidents. Nixon's impeachment led directly to Clinton's. Clinton weaseling out of it is why george w bush was elected.
Obama was a return salvo from the left. To "Trigger the racists."
Trump was in turn a response to that.
