I think I am finally over my roommates. I think I am 100% sure I will move out and live alone. Every morning and evening, my female roommate vomits her drama into my life as I make coffee and grab my lunch.
And now I am vomiting to you guys, ugh, sorry.
True... and if I live alone it will be 20% of my income but I am only paying 7% of my income now for rent haha. The frugal me is fighting this every inch.
I wish I didn't grow up in poverty. This decision would be so easy. I'm such a fearful person sometimes.
Finally im verified, i can talk.
Was sending it to the wrong email...
I drown out the emotional drama in my life with other noise, but getting away would be a better option.
ghosting or living abroad could work
@Flushtater I’m 100% a tampon right now. I’ve always lived with others so the idea of spending an $8k premium to simply live alone for my emotional wellbeing isn’t really legitimate to me.
often Asian countries are way cheaper and quieter in some respects
@Denno once I have 250-300k invested (hovering around 60k right now), I plan on checking out other countries.
good plan
I want to ask, is a STEM field generally free from women?
The goal isn’t to have a family out in another country though. Just to experience new culture and travel.
I don't mind my teaching job. But I am considering phasing out my profession in the future
No. I work in STEM. Technology is being pushed to get more women. However, I only see women as project managers, product managers or designers / front end. I don’t see many actual engineers being women.
Mechanical engineering - no women. Computer engineering - few women. Trades - few women.
From my limited experience. *
so basically the managers and positions of power 😦
Ive considered coding and cyber security
I’m in information security. All project management is female. All compliance is women.
Anything to do with telling other people what to do but not knowing anything - is a female.
😦
some future us men have
All the males are in technical roles. Like it’s actually funny when you walk in. The entire left side are the engineers. The entire right side are the project managers, compliance and managers.
This guy got posting privileges up in here
😮
Honestly, I don’t care about the future anymore. I just want to stash the cash and plan on bouncing. I will build my own SaaS products and never hire anyone so I’ll be fine to make a living and do what I want.
hmmm
what about drafting
is that a decent paying and viable career? I miss building stuff
Drafting as in mechanical?
I think that’s largely male still but a lot of females since it is more design orientated.
ummm either
mechanical or technical
Oh yeah product design is usually male/female but tooling drafting is all men.
hmmmmm
and its way cheaper than a degree
Women want the recognition of working on the product itself.
Possibly! I am not sure.
