Yeah, it's kinda boring.
Everyone I spoke to swore I need a mechanical keyboard but I actually prefer a $10 dell membrane keyboard because I grew up on laptops.
I HATE laptops, my dude. FUCKING terrible devices. Desktop all the way.
2 weeks until BO4
Ah sheeet
Even gaming laptops don't run well
they die quickly and don't perform like a desktop does
Yes.
It's not logical why... but I HATE laptops. They're just garbage. I'm also a weirdo and hate tablets/smartphones. I am the only 24yr old I know who would prefer a desk phone or a VOIP number 😄
I used Google Voice as my only phone for 2 years.
Be careful, gotta embrace new technology every now and then. Being 45 years old at work and not knowing how to use the computers that well must suck
If you're a tech guy/engineer that won't be a problem
I am a tech/engineer. I know how to use them but I hate them.
They're just inferior. I use laptops as desktops any chance I get.
I use laptops to ssh into actual machines 😄
I don't like tablets and phones either
Nice desktop with a hardwired internet connection is king
I've noticed that wifi is slow, shitty, and not secure
@machtyn after reading your statements, I think I know whats is your problem
It's the fatherhood desire
@Sigma YES! Ben Greenfield has a home that is industrial/cement/steel fully insulated with no wifi and all hardwired. That's my end game.
I don't hate kids but I never really wanted kids. I do enjoy mentoring people.
I like mentoring others too
But mentoring is not the same as fatherhood
True.
Also, you describ having a lot of activities, but yet, you always feel that something is missing, right?
Yeah
I feel like I should be doing more.
Now, try to imagine yourself with a toddler
It's quite scary, isn't?
It would be weird haha.
I'd be constantly improving my procedures to take care of it.
I've taken care of kids only twice in my life. The first time they were toddlers so they didn't give me too much fuss. The second time it was pre-teen so it was a lot of attitude but I wasn't cleaning up after them as much.
There it is
It's the fatherhood desire coming to surface
I just realized I called a toddler an "it" 😄 I meant them.
What if I just kept going to school while working full time instead?
It would only cost $6,000 per year so I'd easily afford that. I could do 5 classes per year while working full time.
I'd probably get burned out but if I manage it right, it could work.
